The Global Reliability Manager is part of the Global Asset Integrity and Turnaround (GAIT) team and serves as the Global Process Owner for the Reliability Excellence Model.  This role provides a challenging, growth opportunity for a leader in a key performance area for LYB by leading strategic initiatives to enhance reliability performance across the global manufacturing footprint. This role drives the implementation of best-in-class reliability practices, supports capital projects with RAM analysis, and partners with site teams to develop and execute reliability and maintenance strategies aligned with business objectives.

The incumbent will lead a global team of reliability engineers, facilitate cross-functional collaboration with equipment experts, technical networks, and process owners, and champion continuous improvement through data-driven insights and industry benchmarking. An individual who thrives on innovation, collaboration and wants their expertise to make a real difference at a global level would excel in this role. 

A Day in the Life

Builds Partnerships/Strategic Leadership
•    Lead the development and deployment of the Reliability Excellence Model across global sites
•    Serve as the Reliability Global Process Owner, aligning reliability strategies with corporate goals
•    Partner with site leadership to build and implement reliability and maintenance strategies that optimize performance and cost

Deliver results
•    Analyze reliability, maintenance, and process safety data to identify systemic improvement opportunities; partner with key stakeholders to implement strategies and tactics derived through this analysis 
•    Support capital projects with RAM modeling and asset management strategy development
Grow Capabilities/Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Engage with GAIT equipment experts, Technical Networks, and site teams to identify and address company-wide reliability trends
•    Lead the Reliability Technical Network to promote knowledge sharing and standardization
•    Collaborate with IT teams to evaluate and implement core reliability and maintenance tools, ensuring future readiness and obsolescence planning
Governance & Standards
•    Develop standards and practices to support the Global Asset Integrity Standard (GAIS)
•    Lead GAIS OE audits to capture and disseminate best practices
Drive Innovation/Industry Engagement
•    Represent LyondellBasell in industry organizations (e.g., SMRP, AFPM, IBR) to benchmark practices and stay abreast of emerging technologies
•    Research and recommend innovative tools and techniques to improve business performance

 

You Bring This Value

Education
•    BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil or Electrical, preferred)
Work Experience 
•    Minimum 15 years in maintenance and/or reliability engineering within refining, petrochemical, or chemical process industries
•    Proven experience leading technical teams and driving cross-functional initiatives, preferably in Manufacturing leadership roles
•    Solid understanding of reliability methodologies: RCM, FMEA, RAM Modeling, RCA, Six Sigma, Reliability Growth Analysis
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
•    Influential leadership across all organizational levels
•    Effective presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
•    Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
