The Enterprise Trading Architect is a key strategic and technical leader responsible for designing, integrating, and optimizing the organization's trading technology landscape across all asset classes and geographies. This role ensure that the technology ecosystem supporting trading operations is scalable, resilient, secure, and aligned with business goals. This role encompasses the full lifecycle of trading systems, from deal capture and risk management to settlement, analytics, and regulatory compliance. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies and best practices, the Enterprise Trading Architect facilitates efficient trading workflows, enables data-driven decision-making, and ensures the organization remains competitive in dynamic markets.

Roles & Responsibilities

 

The Enterprise Trading Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for defining, designing, and implementing the comprehensive technology architecture supporting the organization’s trading operations across asset classes, markets, and geographies. This role ensures that trading platforms, systems, and processes are optimized for scalability, performance, compliance, and innovation. With a focus on aligning business goals with technology capabilities, the Enterprise Trading Architect drives modernization, integration, and transformation of trading ecosystems while providing strategic guidance on emerging technologies and market trends. 

 

  • Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide architecture strategy for trading operations, aligned with organizational goals and market requirements
  • Define a future-ready architectural blueprint that incorporates trading platforms, risk management systems, data analytics, and reporting
  • Lead the adoption of standardized frameworks, tools, and best practices across all trading systems
  • Architect solutions that enable seamless execution across the full trade lifecycle, including deal capture, risk assessment, settlement, and reporting
  • Ensure tight integration between trading systems and operational functions such as risk, compliance, finance, and logistics
  • Design for real-time trade execution and risk visibility to meet dynamic market demands
  • Lead the integration of trading platforms with enterprise systems, market data providers, and external exchanges
  • Oversee the migration of legacy systems to modern, cloud-native, and microservices-based architectures
  • Design scalable and modular architectures to support growth in trading volumes and the addition of new asset classes
  • Establish a unified data architecture to manage and analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured trading data
  • Enable advanced analytics capabilities, including machine learning models for predictive insights and algorithmic trading
  • Ensure data consistency, governance, and security across the trading ecosystem
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies such as blockchain, IoT, and AI/ML to enhance trading operations
  • Lead proof-of-concept projects to assess and integrate innovative tools and platforms
  • Drive the adoption of cloud computing, containerization, and serverless architectures for flexibility and cost-efficiency
  • Expertise in AWS, Azure Cloud for hosting trading applications and data platforms.
  • Proficiency in data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, and master data management (MDM).
  • Act as a key advisor to business and IT leaders, aligning technology decisions with strategic goals
  • Collaborate with trading, operations, and compliance teams to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions

Min. Qualifications

 

 

This individual must demonstrate strong technical SAP security expertise and knowledge in each of the following technology disciplines:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, software engineering, or trading technology roles.
  • Deep understanding of financial markets and commodity trading, including market dynamics and regulatory environments.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing trading systems across asset classes (e.g., commodities, equities, fixed income, FX, or energy).
  • Hands-on experience with CTRM/ETRM platforms (e.g., OpenLink, Allegro, Endur) and trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, ICE, Reuters).
  • Deep understanding of the trade lifecycle and its integration with risk, finance, logistics, and compliance systems.
  • Experience in large-scale system integration, digital transformation, and cloud migrations.
  • Extensive knowledge of pricing models, volatility modeling, and quantitative analysis tools for trading.
  • Experience with tools like Snowflake, Databricks, and Hadoop ecosystems for large-scale data processing and analytics
