The Enterprise Master Data Steward Sustainability is responsible for establishing and implementing master data governance framework (Sustainability-specific) and driving consistent requirements around data standards, data quality, access and utilization and promoting processes that improve and sustain high data quality across. This is an individual contributor, team leader role that will influence across multiple departments, and act as an advisory role reporting to the Director, Enterprise Master Data Governance. This role is part of the Enterprise Master Data Governance Team (DGT), working together with data stewards from across other domains. The DGT will collectively be responsible for implementing (directly and through influence) cross-functional data governance processes and standards across all master data domains. This inaugural role will be pivotal in developing the Enterprise Master Data Roadmap, master data governance requirements and best practices, development of the OE structure and documents, global roll-out and adoption of the policies, requirements, and best practices developed including training, support, and advisement. Additionally, this role will be critical to development and execution of assurance and sustainment processes required for excellence in master data stewardship.
A Day In The Life:
- Advise the Director of Enterprise Master Data Governance and Leadership regarding sustainability master data process, tools, improvement recommendations, strategies, opportunities, and threats.
- Drive process and data quality Improvements
- Drive deployment and adoption of data governance processes and requirements within the sustainability domain, with regional and local requirements customization only when required
- Develop meaningful KPIs on both data quality and governance to effectively measure the impacts of governance processes in driving desired data quality and consistency outcomes
- Deliver major data governance process design or redesign efforts and be accountable for their successful implementation within the sustainability domain
- Map out roles and responsibilities related to data governance within the domain.
- Day to day management and ownership of Enterprise Master Data Governance process, requirements, and best practices specifically regarding the sustainability data domain.
- Active project team member regarding sustainability master data projects and initiatives.
- Collaboratively direct and influence the sustainability business/operational data teams; IT /digital technical teams; project teams, and data owners to adopt and embed the established data governance standards and policies into the operational or technical aspects. This includes-
- Identifying data issues, mapping data owners, building roadmaps and decision-making framework.
- Establishing data quality standards for the domains and aligning on master data RACI across domains
- Identifying the tools and technology needed to support the process implementation and ongoing sustainability.
- Collaborates with the RTR Global Process Owner organization and Data Quality teams to influence the implementation /formalization of appropriate KPIs and measurement systems that track progress on desired data quality outcomes and effectiveness assurance of governance processes within the sustainability domain and mitigate adverse impacts across end-to end business processes.
- Provide general expertise on data governance, establishing policies, procedures, and internal controls which positively drive high data & process quality outcomes within the sustainability domains.
- Actively participate in all assessments and audits regarding sustainability master data and lead or support closure of findings or recommendations.
- Drive continuous improvement of existing procedures and protocols around data management operations.
You Bring This Value:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or other related discipline.
- 10+ years of total experience with 5+ years of management or leadership experience or Data-related experience in an international environment
- Leadership at the manager/Senior Analyst / Process-owner level in a large, complex global organization with responsibilities for people, processes, resources, and results
- Recognized within the sustainability data domain/process area as knowledgeable, credible, and trusted partners regarding Master Data, and the interdependencies on processes and systems.
- Expertise in business, data, or systems processes, with strong cross-organizational credibility
- Solid understanding of data, metadata and impacts of changes, complemented with strong knowledge of business requirements and data needs within the sustainability domain
- Strong leadership, influencing and communication skills plus the ability to manage / drive multiple diverse perspectives / projects and drive stakeholder alignment
- Display effective decision-making capabilities
- Proven excellence in process management skills as well as an understanding of how master data impacts processes and business solutions
- Broad experience and understanding of systems/SAP disciplines, standards, and best practices.
