Basic Function

The primary purpose of the role is to lead the Talent Acquisition Team in the Americas, APAC and AFME and implement process improvement across the function. Drive forward the plan to deliver high caliber talent across LyondellBasell’s strategic business units to support the growth and needs of the business. Implement and develop strategies to support LyondellBasell to become an employer of choice, to select the best talent for LyondellBasell, and provide a sustainable talent pipeline.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in achieving the TA Goals and Objectives, including all hiring activities at across the Americas, China, India, Middle East. 
  • Manage the recruitment of senior leader level roles in their client groups and support globally as needed.
  • As part of the TA Leadership Team,  provide guidance and support for activities while driving process and operational excellence globally.
  • Anticipate challenges and recommend innovative organizational solutions for complex, global and regional problems.
  • Lead the talent management and succession planning process for their team.
  • Deliver talent management consultation with clients for various organizational design needs such as business growth goals, restructurings, etc.
  • Drive and manage workforce planning and headcount management to align strategies with business priorities.
  • Provide consultation and training on TA processes to include but not limited to interviewing, full-cycle recruitment, external search firm usage, sourcing, onboarding, and hiring manager/HRBP relationships.
  • Consult with clients on internal movement decisions; transfers, promotions, job enhancements and ensures decisions are in line with talent and skill gaps, development plans and career pathing.
  • Partner with clients to effectively acquire all levels of talent.
  • Partner with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team to support and implement equitable hiring strategies.
  • Prepare weekly recruiting activity report to support global recruitment reporting
  • Participate in key talent acquisition strategies to deliver exceptional outcomes including a candidate experience/candidate care program, global employer branding & Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and equity building, and employee referral program.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Talent Acquisition policy, process and tools, and build line manager capability to make high quality, evidence based selection decisions.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand business strategy and needs, including emerging talent needs.
  • Build team capability to make high quality, evidence based selection decisions.
  • Identify and provide recommendations on opportunities for system (SAP Success Factors) and process improvements relating to talent acquisition and internal talent management and advancement.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Mentor, coach, and lead a team of Talent Acquisition Advisors that reports into them.
  • Partner with key individuals across broader talent organization and other key stakeholders to improve pre-hire and post-hire onboarding experience.

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required. 
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience within the areas of talent acquisition, global leadership and people management. Must have experience working with top tier professional search firms, strategic sourcing experience, candidate relationship management system experience and project management experience. 
  • Strong management skills including the ability to effectively consult, negotiate, resolve conflict and influence change.
  • Thorough and deep knowledge of the recruitment life cycle including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Ability to lead or contribute to medium to large scale re-organizations, organization alignment, and workforce planning efforts.
  • Ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives, processes, or projects.
  • Experienced with working, consulting, and influencing high level leadership and management.
  • Experience working across an industrial/manufacturing client base influencing across, upward and downward.
  • Have a good understanding of employment laws and regulations relevant to the recruitment function(s).
  • Ability to lead a high-performance team that focuses on continuous improvement and results.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, presentation and critical thinking skills, including the ability to routinely interface at all levels of the organization quickly and interchangeably.
