Basic Function

The Director - Hyperzone 2 Project will with be the primary role accountable for all aspects of the development, authorization and execution of the project.  This position will coordinate and drive the various business related workstreams coordinate between all LYB functional groups required to operationalize the investment.  
  

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordination with R&D for PDP development and initial technology decisions
  • Engage with key stakeholders (Business, Mfg, GP, R&D, etc.) to initiate and frame the capital investment proposal
  • Coordinate business input supporting key assumptions, justifications and business case for AFF submittal 
  • Focal point for coordinating Strategic Financial Review and preparing Investment Committee content and associated presentations
  • Facilitate decision making on site selection
  • Manage business related risk strategy
  • Key focal point between Business and GP to ensure effective alignment on business opportunity and project goals (i.e. BEAM).
  • Work closely with Project Team and BDA to ensure proper financial analysis & selection of alternatives
  • Ensure project includes any required scope for other functions such as Supply Chain, Feedstocks and IT
  • Business Development – develop strategy, plans, and contracts
    • Sales & Marketing plans for new volumes
    • Feedstocks 
    • Logistics
    • Raw Materials and Utilities 
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement internal and external communications including presentations to the Board and leadership Team
  • Provide Business input and support to GP Manager of Subsidies to capture potential subsidies
  • Coordinate with Global Projects during Execution to maintain alignment on project objectives and manage any changes that occur during this phase that will impact the Business plan
  • Drive set up and structures for functional groups to support ongoing operations
    • Finance, IT, HR, Mfg, etc.
    • Staffing plans, cost centers, budgets, reporting, infrastructure, etc.
  • Work with R&D and the Businesses to develop product testing plans 

 

Qualifications

  • University (preferred) or College degree in engineering
  • 20+ years within LYB or peer company with deep knowledge of the company’s global footprint and direct experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Business or Capital Projects organizations
  • Strong business acumen enabling clear communication to business leaders and executives enabling prompt assessment of business strategy in support of asset development activities
  • Strong understanding of macro-economics, energy markets and impact to LYB operations and businesses
  • Deep knowledge of LYB commercial landscape (Business, Sales, SC, Capital Projects)
  • Experience and track record working with/partnering with governmental entities to secure win/win solutions
  • Broad functional knowledge of LYB enabling quick assessment of business need and functional requirements — right people at the right time
  • Keen sense of level of detail required to assess extent of development necessary to arrive at solutions
  • Strong skills as a teambuilder, impact and influencing at all levels, and collaborator while remaining results focused
  • Extensive experience in building capability and organizational models from “the ground up”
  • Strong preference toward professional courage and willingness to challenge the organization to the benefit of LYB.
  • Proficiency in  English
