Basic Function

DEI is an important corporate value and an important part of our business and people strategies.  To drive transformation, we are expanding our DEI team to include a Director to help deliver on our commitments and accelerate our progress.  

 

The Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will help lead implementation of strategic diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in alignment with the Company’s strategic plans. The Director will report to the Chief DEI Officer and lead four DEI managers. He/she/they will partner with business leaders and P&C to develop and implement DEI programs that successfully attract, retain, and develop a diverse workforce. This person will help to provide thought leadership and partnership to infuse DEI practices into every aspect of the employee experience.

 

The DEI team is highly visible, with regular interaction with leaders and employees at all levels throughout the organization. This person must be a DEI professional who has a demonstrated experience of successfully leading large scale change in a multinational company. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Across the enterprise, serve as a senior advisor, counsel, and confidante to all leaders globally and their respective organizations. 
  • Design, develop and execute DEI strategy, initiatives, and processes to create a culture of belonging and trust globally. Develop and execute strategies to increase leader accountability and drive actions.
  • In conjunction with Talent and Learning, implement DEI Education Programs, to include development of custom content, engaging with internal partners and outside vendors to embed DEI in programs and advance capabilities of all employees.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors and/or internal stakeholders to design, refine, implement, and measure DEI progress using analytics, employee listening, and surveys. 
  • Effectively communicate the measurement & report progress in advancing DEI across the organization. Responsible for the development of annual external reporting for the function.  
  • Coordinate external DEI benchmarking efforts, incorporate best practices, and help to refine appropriate strategies and policies
  • Manages performance of team members to ensure delivery of DEI programs, processes and foster team member engagement, motivation, and development
  • Act as a strong voice for DEI and interface across P&C functional leads to consult and execute DEI strategy, programs, and improvements. Serve as a thought partner to lead and support implementation of DEI initiatives. 
  • Actively participate in and support the global DEI Council activities and its members.
  • Lead the communications strategy in partnership with communications team on effective DEI communication and branding. 
  • Support and help to improve the effectiveness of Employee Networks to promote inclusion across the Company. 

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree in related field preferred.  Education within psychology, training, learning, human resource management, or a related field would be preferred. 
  • Ongoing education or certification within a DEI program preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience. Previous supervisor experience desired. 
  • Proven experience in strategy, program execution and leading enterprise change in a multinational business.
  • Experience leading and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion strategies required.
  • Specific experience with data analytics and measurement of success preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation/facilitation abilities required.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team environment, building effective relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to hear varying viewpoints, manage diverse stakeholders, and synthesize into priorities that will be most meaningful for employees and support business objectives.
  • Sound judgment, high integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Deliver results, strong ownership and accountability, large scale change leadership, Influence for impact, collaboration, relationship building, agility, and project management.
