Basic Function

We are seeking a motivated and experienced UX/UI designer and developer to join our team as a Digital Communications Advisor. In this role, you will work across the business and partner with the company’s IT team to maintain and improve our global intranet, website, digital channels and e-marketing tools and help us to create intuitive, visually appealing and responsive web applications. The position works closely with the Corporate Communications team and various internal clients to facilitate the timely delivery of high-quality digital projects and tools. 

Roles & Responsibilities



  • Support, maintain and improve the company’s website, SharePoint intranet and web-based tools and related content
  • Work with internal clients to execute digital solutions across the business, including internal and external digital communications such as newsletters, email, e-invites, etc.
  • Partner with internal clients and vendors to manage UI/UX website creation and design
  • Create high-fidelity wireframes, prototypes and visual designs that effectively communicate design concepts and user interactions
  • Leverage CMS platform to develop web templates and post customized content and images
  • Act as a “digital gatekeeper” to ensure standardization across wide array of digital projects
  • Effectively manage and resolve complex, digital issues 
  • As needed, assist with crisis management and ensure the integrity of confidential information
  • Create and manage targeted analytics systems, including Google Analytics and Power BI



  • Understanding of corporate communications operating within a Corporate Affairs department 
  • Ensures the alignment and information sharing among the Corporate Affairs team about new messaging, resources, upcoming events/activities, etc.  
  • Act as a trusted advisor for multiple clients, acting as the first line of contact for communications with assigned clients and/or external stakeholders 
  • Understand and anticipate the vision of management and clients / external stakeholders 
  • Serve as a project owner, executing campaigns and projects as assigned with a degree of skill and professionalism 
  • Takes initiative to think several steps ahead and anticipates the needs of clients / stakeholders and management 
  • Communicates proactively with Corporate Affairs, business colleagues and functional teams on upcoming communications to ensure awareness and alignment among all stakeholders 
  • Represents the company with the utmost integrity and abides by the LyondellBasell Code of Conduct 
  • Reviews and edits documents and language from other functional areas where applicable (e.g., external, marketing communications, internal) for accuracy and consistency 
  • Actively participates and communicates new ideas, innovative methods and/or tools to communications leadership team 
  • Implement metrics systems and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to benchmark team progress and success of communications initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement 
  • Partner with in-house design team to execute creative concepts in alignment with overarching corporate messaging and brand standards 
  • Attend and/or lead group and client meetings as requested 
  • Responsible for responding and/or escalating client / stakeholder requests for support and follow through to close out

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, computer science or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design and web development
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a global business environment
  • Experience within a global company preferred 
  • Extensive experience working with content management system (CMS) and SharePoint
  • Basic programming knowledge in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Proven ability to analyze and manage complex data into streamlined reporting for broader organization 
  • Knowledge of best practices in UX/UI design and responsive web development
  • Demonstrated corporate information system management skills
  • Demonstrable experience with responsive web design (both design and implementation) 
  • Experience designing websites for SEO and ADA compliance, mobile and cross-browser-compatibility
  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe XD, with the ability to transform design concepts into working code 
  • Skilled, efficient and collaborative project manager with the capacity to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects, while solving broadly defined complex problems
  • Communicates clearly, concisely and effectively with global stakeholders
  • Understands our customers’ digital information needs
  • Able to address complex, digital and technology-related topics
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
