Data Privacy and Information Analyst

Basic Function

The Data Privacy and Information Analyst serves within the company's global Data Privacy Office, helping to assess the company's data privacy risks across the organization, supporting the development and implementation solutions to minimize those risks, and embedding privacy awareness and best practices throughout the LyondellBasell business units. This includes supporting and advising on the development, improvement, planning and execution of privacy compliance and information management in company-wide initiatives and innovative digital solutions.  This position will report to the Senior Counsel, Data Privacy and will interact regularly with company legal counsel, operations personnel, employees and third party vendors.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for innovation within the privacy compliance program and introduce improvements and automation where possible
  • Maintain LYB’s privacy compliance program, including identifying privacy risks, best practices with regards to information and data management, and developing key privacy controls and mitigation strategies
  • Identify trends, conduct analyses, and develop dashboards within privacy technology platforms such as OneTrust and TrustArc
  • Collaborate with IT Product and Security Architecture teams to address privacy requirements and incorporate privacy by design principles at the first stages of evaluation or development
  • Collaborate with the CyberSecurity team on a variety of overlapping initiatives and responsibilities, including managing privacy risk, assessing security and privacy controls of third parties, addressing privacy compliance requirements and data management
  • Manage privacy technology platforms (such as OneTrust and TrustArc) and oversee integration of such platforms with internal assets in order to streamline efforts across functions
  • Track LYB’s compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR, PIPL, LGPD, CPRA), LYB standards, and applicable privacy frameworks and monitoring program performance
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, training materials, and reports
  • Partner with counsel and learning management teams to schedule and track both in-person and web-based training
  • Develop data privacy and information management awareness campaigns in collaboration with the Senior Counsel, Data Privacy and other stakeholders
  • Draft presentation materials for Data Privacy Committee and department meetings
  • Assist with the review and negotiation of data processing agreements
  • Support and develop company’s efforts to manage its physical and electronic records
  • Managing privacy inquiries and requests for information internally and externally, including managing Data Subject Access Requests under the GDPR and other individual rights requests
  • Assisting business/technology stakeholders in conducting privacy assessments (Data Inventory, Asset, Vendor, DPIAs, PIAs, Legitimate Interest) and data mapping across the organization within OneTrust platform and remediating issues
  • Updating and maintaining data privacy pages on LyondellBasell website and intranet

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Requires 5+ years’ experience in a data protection, information management, or cybersecurity role
  • Excellent co-ordination, organization, and project management skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong team player and a positive attitude with an eagerness to learn and develop
  • Comfortable with public speaking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification/accreditation in CIPM/CIPP-E (or similar qualification) 
  • Knowledge of global data protection laws, standards and associated compliance requirements (e.g. GDPR, CPRA)
  • Knowledge of OneTrust, TrustArc, report and dashboard creation 
  • Knowledge of different applications and processes that support records and information management
