Basic Function

  • Leads category teams through the strategic sourcing process while providing senior management with economic, market, industry, process and technology strategic advisory necessary to improve performance and further procurement’s transformational vision are critical expectations for this role.
  • Focal point for procurement best practice tasked with engraining strategic sourcing processes from opportunity identification to value implementation as part of Commercial Excellence to sustain value creation through Polaris (Value Enhancement Program)
  • In conjunction with members of the Procurement Leadership, focus on managing and mentoring category teams on market intelligence and analysis of both commodities and suppliers to increase supply market leverage.
  • Responsible for improving the operational efficiency of the categories by developing and implementing long-range strategic plans as well as benchmarking performance against excellence in sourcing.
  • Operational responsibilities (i.e. project marketing and training communications with client stakeholders and suppliers, management reporting, compliance monitoring and functional gap closure initiatives) in support of the Chief Procurement Officer and Procurement Leadership

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Displays high proficiency in Enterprise system applications. Applies analytical tools to anticipate and solve problems in a timely fashion. 
  • Analyzes complex data, identifies anomalies and provides information in a user-friendly format. 
  • Provides training and guidance to Procurement staff regarding data analytics. 
  • Leads various process design activities within Procurement to improve operational efficiency and lower cost of operations (inclusive of designing solutions aligned with procurement roadmap and ensuring integration with other projects, systems and processes). 
  • Manages training and change management activities to achieve organizational readiness for the P2P process and technology changes.
  • Supports the Procurement Leadership in budgeting, strategic planning, enterprise risk assessments and other annual planning activities. 
  • Provides expertise regarding functional design and technical specifications and works with SAP programming teams to design and implement identified system enhancements and customizations. 
  • Manages training and change management activities to achieve organizational readiness for the P2P process and technology changes. 
  • Provides expertise regarding functional design and technical specifications and work with SAP programing teams to design and implement identified system enhancements and customizations. 
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may direct the work of other staff members. 
  • Training and change management activities to achieve organizational readiness for the S2P process and technology changes. 
  • May partner with cross-functional teams in complex programs or initiatives. I
     

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required (or recognized equivalent); Master’s degree preferred (or recognized equivalent).
  • 10+ years related experience required. 
  • 6+ years of chemical or related industry experience is desirable.
  • Experience defining KPI's and metrics
  • Demonstrated experience successfully implementing change management strategies and techniques within chemical industry.
  • Demonstrated program management experience successfully implementing procurement processes across business units and geographies.
