Basic Function

LyondellBasell is seeking a Corporate Communications Intern for a full-time, paid internship during the Summer of 2023. This internship will provide a comprehensive overview of Corporate Communications including with Employee Communications, HR Communications, Global Corporate Citizenship, Digital and Marketing. The Corporate Communications Intern will gain a better understanding of the various Corporate Communications functions and be prepared to apply their classroom knowledge in a real world practical setting.

The opportunity is at our corporate office located at the LyondellBasell Tower in Downtown Houston.

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist the Corporate Communications team with a wide range of projects related to employee communications, media relations, metrics and analytics, social media and employee volunteerism and events
Participate in brainstorm sessions, client meetings and department meetings
Create engaging content including, but not limited to: articles, blogs, social media posts
Contribute to the team's common goals and priorities
Communicate in a clear, concise, and organized manner
Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team environment

Min. Qualifications

Current enrollment in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Corporate Communications (degrees include communications, public relations, marketing, digital communications or related field)
Must demonstrate effective communication skills, both oral and written
Proficient in MS Office
Student Member of PRSSA or AMA a plus but not required

Strong desire to learn, along with professional drive
Passion for communications and best practices
Attention to detail and a creative mind are essential to this role
Able to maintain professionalism and prioritize responsibilities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders, including executive leadership and other colleagues
Additionally, the individual must be a strong writer and able to effectively influence others in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
