Manage chemical recycling product (pyrolysis oil) and sustainable bio-feedstock sourcing development initiatives for CirculenRevive and CirculenRenew and support the growth of NA Circular Product Solutions. The Business Developer NA identifies, designs and builds partnerships with potential feedstock suppliers, gathers market intelligence, maintains the supplier database of feedstock sources and updates industry supply/demand balances as the recycling market evolves. This position will work directly with 3rd parties to negotiate and contract both short-term and long-term volumes. The position works in the Advanced Recycling & Low Carbon Solutions team, closely cooperating with the NA O&P organization, including the NA Feedstock, Olefins & Optimization teams as well as the NA Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams and the CLCS Mechanical Recycling & Feedstock regional team and Brand owner and marketing teams.
 

A Day In The Life:

External Development and Relationship Building

  • Maintain relationships with external parties (feedstock suppliers) and commitments in order to influence further progress and developments as needed.
  • Identify and evaluate potential 3rd party chemical recycling partnerships, liasing for support on technology assessment with Advanced Recycling 3rd party BD & Technology team. 
  • Design scope and business model of 3rd party chemical recycling partnerships, negotiate and execute partnership agreements, with support from Advanced Recycling 3rd party BD & Technology team and C&LC Finance & Strategy and Legal.
  • Negotiate supply agreements on pyrolysis oil and bio-feedstocks.
  • Provide industry analysis and competitive intelligence in supporting and developing LyondellBasell positions in industry associations, as it relates to policy developments on sustainable feedstocks. 

Internal Development 

  • Develop the value proposition and assess attractiveness for various feedstock supplies with support from olefins optimization for the various NA Circular Economy Roadmap initiatives.
  • Manage the feedstock contracting strategy and execution (including specification approvals) with the olefins and feedstock team for the required pyrolysis oil and renewable feedstocks.
  • Coordinate the storage and delivery logistics with NA Feedstocks and C&LC Planning & Operations.
  • Collaborate with the polymers team to meet incoming customers (brand owners, converters) CirculenRevive and CirculenRenew requests.
  • Align with NA Recover team to ensure access to waste feedstocks for both chemical & mechanical recycling in NA at optimal quality adjusted prices.

You Bring This Value:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field of study.
  • Master's degree in Business preferred.

Work Experience 

  • Minimum 10 years of professional work experience in the petrochemical , waste management or  related industry.
  • 1+ year of contract negotiation experience with 3rd parties.
