Overview

Do you want to make a difference today cleaning up the air in some of the most polluted cities in the world and become part of a global chemical industry leader? Our company has been producing fuel blending components for years which contributed to cleaning up the air in Latin America, China and Europe for instance. While the world is looking at electric vehicles as a way to reduce CO2 emissions, this is still years away from being a sizeable part of the global car fleet and many countries in the world don’t have the infrastructure and reliable energy supply to move to Battery Electric Vehicle any time soon. We can make meaningful further CO2 reductions with the existing combustion engine car fleet by increasing the fuel quality around the world as we have proven for decades already in the markets we sell to today. LYB has multiple assets globally to produce Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE) and Ethyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (ETBE) using either methanol and ethanol as feedstock reacting with Tertiary Butyl alcohol (TBA) and we are actually constructing the largest TBA plant ever build in the US right now, due to come on stream in 2023
