Basic Function

The Global Quality & Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead continuous improvements and drive quality processes from a global perspective.  There is an emphasis on data driven decision-making to improve customer satisfaction through eliminating re-occurring high risk and high value product quality incidents.  This role will drive results for achieving global quality initiatives that align with business objectives.

This role will sit at our LyondellBasell Tower in downtown Houston.

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Direct efficient execution of customer satisfaction and Quality improvement projects
•    Implement and Manage KPI’s to drive process improvements
•    Provide quarterly Quality data analysis and path forward to business units
•    Develop and execute long range Customer Satisfaction improvement strategies
•    Collaborate effectively to drive group, regional, and global goals that focus on increasing customer satisfaction
•    Establish a culture of quality excellence within sites and functions
•    Assist ADTS/PAD/Business Units/Sites with high risk/high value Quality and Application Customer complaint resolution
•    Lead complex Root Cause Analysis investigations for targeted Quality systems improvements

•    Ability to effectively manage multiple and/or changing priorities with minimal supervision.
•    Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbal to multiple levels of the organization.

Additional Necessary Qualifications

Education
•    Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.  Chemical engineering degree preferred.

Work Experience 
•    Minimum of 6 years related experience in unit processing in the petrochemical industry, preferably in polymers.

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement techniques such as Value/Stream/Process Mapping, Structured Problem Solving, and Error/Mistake Proofing is preferred.
