Product Development Engineer (m/f/d) - Data Analytics and AI

Day in the Life:

• Supporting data management pipeline from data source to AI models, relating various data sources and structures to one another, and resolve data issues throughout pipeline
• Key liaison between product development team and AI/ ML tools
• Support, improve, and expand Machine Learning model capability for product development activities to maximize value creation
• Leverage structured datasets to build improved reporting tools on products, properties and raw materials
• Search for opportunities for materials improvement, recipe optimization (reduction of BBs, optimization of raw materials), cost reduction together with the product responsible, Centre of Excellence and Asset Management  to generate additional value
• Develop new PP Compounds for target applications, specific OEM(s) in areas of interest
• Support commercialization of PP Compounds (quality, manufacturing, and OEM approvals)
• Manage specific set of raw materials, work with raw material suppliers to expand product capabilities, develop best practice technologies and communicate with technology team
• Act as technical focal point at customer and OEM representing product and company
• Follow HSE and safety guidelines
• Address customer problems as related to materials

You Bring This Value:

• University degree in scientific areas including Polymers, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry; Master or PhD degree is preferred or equivalent qualification
• Three years’ experience in Material Science, Polymer Science or related fields
• Understanding of polymer structure property relationship, polymer characterization methods, compounding processes, and data interpretation preferred
• Sound understanding and ambition for data analytics and data science, specifically ability to quickly comprehend, clean, and structure complex datasets for further use
• Preferred is experience in utilizing Al technologies and data management for polymer materials blending and compounding, sound understanding of polymer structure, properties, processing especially compounding and injection molding and their relationships
• Working knowledge of data architecture, experience in management and processing of data from various databases or systems and data presentation including graphic building
• Computer skills and Microsoft Office experience required
• Basic understanding of Python and PowerApps
• Ability to apply in mathematics and  statistics in day-to-day activities
• Experience in inter-functional projects and resource management
• Professionalism, creativity and enthusiasm to get things done and to raise consensus / commitment in others
• Good communication skills and teamwork with a wide range of hierarchies
• Fluent in English, every other language is a plus
