Basic Function
Operate within the Environmental Lab in order to ensure proper planning and execution of activities as well as business continuity.
Scientifically support LYB activities solving complex problems and provide technological solutions for the laboratory by applying analytical competence, scientific skills and knowledge in environmental analytics.
Main interface of RLab in the emission field.
Manage and carry out assigned activities or project work requiring analysis, interpretation, developing new methods and improvement of current standard operating procedures where applicable and as required.
Additional laboratory assistance as required
Roles & Responsibilities
- Responsible for achieving Goal ZERO performance in occupational safety, process safety and environmental aspects implementing and maintaining the highest standards, results and certifications for HSEQ. Comply with corporate safety standards, policies and local regulations.
- Main interface of the RLab in managing analytical plans, extra routine requests , direct management of techniques in Emission field
- Main interface of the RLab in managing analytical plan and extra routine requests.
- Active cooperation in the development, validation and implementation of new test methods or validation of improved techniques in a timely manner and within resources available and as per business need
- Provide scientific/technical support to staff and clients in order to improve lab knowledge and the operational feasibility
- Technical responsibility of operation and reporting
- Main interface of RLab in guarantee calibration of test equipment and perform or organize routine performance check /maintenance as require
- Manage all the activities of his/her area of competence in order to maintain and set quality systems for proficiency requirements
- Collaborate with the Rlab. to implement and keep running and updated the QS. according with UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 norm.
- Guarantee an active contribution with improvement ideas both for Manufacturing then R&D also proposing new apparatus
- Registration in the chemists'italian register (Ordine dei chimici). Write down and sign reports, or lab analyses, as requested by the management through delegation (e.g.“RdP-Rapporti di Prova”).
- Collaboration with RLab and AS Management to support and develop projects on R&D sustainability topics
Min. Qualifications
Education:
- University Degree in the Scientific area of competence (Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry)
Work Experience:
- Qualified experience (more than 5 years) in QC laboratory with deep knowledge in environmental air emissions
- Previous experience and strong technical capability both in gas chromatography, HPLC, mass spectroscopy instrumentation than Elemental analyses
- Knowledge in Environmental analyses field is a plus
Languages:
- English fluent, both written and spoken; others languages are welcome
Licenses & Certifications:
- Training courses: UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025 ; ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are a plus

- Knowledge about LyondellBasell’s main processes within R&D and Manufacturing,
- Knowledge about quality management techniques, tools, methods (e.g project and process FMEA, Cp-Cpk, SPC, PROBLEM SOLVING)
- Able to use most common software packages, as Microsoft Office, Windows, Minitab, SAP, LIMS
- Knowledge about quality technical norms, rules and regulations related to Quality & HSE (e.g. tech norms and guidelines from national and international bodies such as ISO, ASTM, Unichim, ACCREDIA, Eurachem, FDA, and similar)
