DCS Specialist

Basic Function

This technician will manage the entire lifecycle of equipment utilizing Corporate / Site procedure or engineering standards interacting with all relevant site departments as well as company peers and vendors/suppliers as needed to solve problems and improve plant reliability / performance. He / she will be the reference person for:

• Emerson Delta V programming
• PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell)
• Configuration, troubleshooting of instrumentation installed on field

This technician has to hold good knowledge of network management of these technologies: 

• Microsoft Windows (desktop and server OS) administration, 
• Active Directory, 
• Domain architecture & management, 
• Virtual Systems (VMware)
• Network topology and components, 
• Network switches and firewall administration
• HW lifecycle
• Centralized endpoint protection (Antivirus),
• Centralized patch management system (WSUS, SCCM) for Security and System updates
• SQL server,

Roles & Responsibilities

On the instructions of the department manager and in cooperation with the maintenance coordinators, it defines the maintenance plans task lists as well as the annual maintenance plan (cost and resources) for his/her technical area.

Coordinating maintenance activities and plans in accordance with plant production needs.
Systematically define, design, develop, monitor, and refine an asset maintenance plan that includes:

• Value-added preventive maintenance tasks
• Apply value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign and make/buy decisions

Min. Qualifications

Education:
High school degree and preferably engineering experience in automation/instrumentation engineering 

Work Experience:
Preferably 3+ years experience in the field 

Languages:
Good written and fluent oral English

Technical Skills

•    General engineering knowledge of instruments (Smart trasmitters, flowmeters, control valves, ..) and their field installation in a Chemical environment Atex classified.
•    General engineering knowledge of Safety Logic Solvers (S-PLC) and Digital Control Systems (DCS)
•    Familiarity with common plant documentation (e.g. PFD, P&ID)
