Feedstock Procurement Manager

Basic Function

The role is critical to help develop long and medium-term strategies align with business management to minimize feedstock cost and optimize feedslate and P&L, as well as to identify market opportunities. The incumbent is responsible for intensive interaction with cross-functional staff communication on planning, technology, supply logistics, credit, finance, supply accounting and cracker system to optimize feedslate exposure in dynamic market environment and working with manufacturing sides to ensure optimal feeds through adjusting strategies and tactics. 

There will be a possible growth for the role towards negotiation and managing short term physical feedstock supplies.

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Responsible for and owner of actively managing LYB’s LPG exposure in Asia
•    Understand of global feedstock market fundamentals, regional interactions, relationships with the futures markets, and cross product interdependencies.  Responsible for effective communication to senior management.  Understands enterprise future feedstock requirements including business scenarios which may lead to revisions, inventory requirements, impact on working capital, price trends and market shifts.  Use this information to develop and execute long-term purchase and inventory strategies
•    Develop naphtha and LPG price forecasts used as input for global optimization and business cases.
•    Develop and maintain strong market relationships and represent LyondellBasell in appropriate industry environments, both relating to physical and paper derivative markets.
•    Act as liaison with other business and manufacturing groups within LyondellBasell to ensure that company strategies and directives involving feedstocks are known and met. Works with Business, Optimization (within I&D and O&P), and Manufacturing to optimize contract portfolio. Communicate market trends to groups within LyondellBasell who need this information to optimize their performance.

Min. Qualifications

University or college degree in Business or Engineering minimum bachelor preferably MBA or master degree in Business or Engineering.

Work Experience: 
Minimum 15 years’ experience in Asia petrochemical or oil and gas industry commercial or trading environment, both physical and paper.

•    Trading and risk management experience, both in physical and paper markets.
•    Strong analytical skills. 
•    (Ability to) understand cracker technology and set-up, and impact of feedstocks on yields.
•    Excellent communication, on senior management as well as operational level, with Manufacturing as well as Business. 
•    Must be able to make decisive market calls with significant P&L impact in complex, ambiguous spot and forward markets.
