The Sr, Process Specialist is a production-based function focused on driving continuous improvement and implementing value-added changes to the production process. This person is also a team leader for our process specialists, responsible for their performance and growth with the company. This position works closely with Production, QA, and Logistics to recommend changes to processes, products, and raw materials. The Process Specialist functions are variable and evolve with business need to maintain compliance and operational excellence standards.

A Day in the Life:

General· Implements, complies with and encourages team members to adhere to all safety requirements resulting in zero safety violations. This includes participating in all Lyondell safety related activities such as GoalZERO and Operational Excellence Standards, along with safety talks, behavioral based safety observations, audits, etc.· Lead and / or participate in, continuous improvement / corrective action projects as required· Understands manufacturing priorities based on established weekly productions schedules and makes daily assignments to achieve performance expectations.· Drive initiative to eliminate excess inventory and re-use rejected materials and goods· Maintain a working knowledge of production assets and capabilities· Establish and maintain documents related to process optimization / efficiency and process control· Assist PAD’s / Engineering with product and process improvement feedback through data collection and empirical trials· Assist production operations in optimizing the arrangement of products and processes to maintain efficient continuous operation· Prepare allocations of raw materials for production orders· Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Logistics to ensure material flow supports production needs· Encourage team to meet individual and team goals· Promote and maintain a team environment that encourages employees to get engaged in the operation and take ownership of tasksYou bring this value: (Typical knowledge, qualifications and typical experience required for the job)

You Bring This Value :

Education· Minimum Education: High School Diploma / G.E.D – Degree in sciences or related technologies preferred.Work Experience· 8+ years of manufacturing experience with SAP experience a plus.· 3+ year’s prior supervisory experience or equivalent experience as a lead person or ‘step-up’· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.· Critical thinking skills and decision making abilities.· Strong organizational skills; time management; and priority planning.· Good verbal, written and team communication skills.· Ability to read and interpret technical documents, write routine correspondence effectivelyArea of Expertise, Requirements· Knowledge of raw materials, the process of compounding raw materials to produce finished products· Knowledge of plastic compound tests and test methods· 3+ years' experience in compounding manufacturing, raw material properties and mix interaction properties.· Knowledge of compounding processes; twin screw, single screw and continuous mixers is preferred.· Experience in Lean Six Sigma, 5-S is strongly preferredLanguages: Fluent in written and spoken English
