Logistics Supervisor

Basic Function

The Logistics Supervisor will work closely with the Buyer for the Compound production area to support deliveries, maintenance of the stockroom. In coordination with others he/she administers on-site service programs.  This position is also responsible for supervision of the warehouse area as well as managing shipping of product and receipt of materials. 

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage shipping & receiving hourly personnel
• Provide oversight and verification of shipping documentation and product to customer
• As needed coordinates delivery of product to customer
• Timely complete purchase order entry and updates as directed 
• Update and enter item masters in coordination with Buyer
• Performs MRO ordering in coordination with Buyer
• Assist Buyer with expediting deliveries.  Track and monitor receipt of incoming materials and ensure communication with scheduling and production of the same.  Advise of anticipated late deliveries and schedule interruptions
• Attend daily planning and production meetings as required
• Responsible for stockroom order entry, receipt of materials and management of supplies in stock room
• Reconciles freight invoices for items ordered
• Update and enter service purchase orders for facility; Maintain monthly service invoices and programs (i.e. propane, PPE, Uniforms)
• Complete Raw material cycle count inventory entry
• Responsible for entering and updating all workers' Compensation and liability certs from vendors
• Assist with ISO9001 audit maintenance and documentation
• Scheduling - serve as back-up to Scheduler
• Coordinate the scheduling and logistics of outgoing and incoming rail deliveries to ensure timely and efficient transportation.

Qualifications

• 3 – 5 years of Logistics or Supply Chain Experience with management responsibiities overseeing logistics and transportation operations
• Relevant Associates Degree from an accredited university, college, or technical school, preferred but not required
• Proficiency in SAP for managing and optimizing material movement and logistics operations.
• Proven knowledge and experience in applying lean processes to optimize logistics and transportation operations
