Basic Function

Manage the relevant portfolio of products and develop and drive initiatives to maximize value from each our assets, consistent with market strategies.

Responsibility includes product stewardship, understanding and addressing gap closure versus external benchmarks, and working in close collaboration with manufacturing, planning & sourcing, supply chain, marketing, ADTS, corporate HSE.    

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Evaluate plant performance versus other LYB benchmarks and business needs. Define corresponding initiatives and action plan to drive its implementation. This should be developed in close collaboration with marketing managers, manufacturing, planning and other functions as relevant. 
•    Drive rapid implementation of gap closure measures and improvement action plan, interacting with Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, ADTS & Planning as appropriate. 
•    These initiatives will address opportunities for capacity creep, optimization of product portfolio, product wheel, catalyst systems, and additives/preblends – generally targeting lowest complexity.
•    Drive the implementation of MPC’s for improvement of existing grades, introduction of new products, including new catalyst systems in the plants
•    Lead Product Stewardship activities to ensure external regulations, externally or corporate certified standards and business needs are fully met for relevant part of the product portfolio. Understand implications of upcoming changes in requirements and ensure timely response.
•    Assist in quality processes such as ISO-9001 certification, business/product stewardship procedures, customer quality audits together with Quality Focal Points and other stakeholders. Assess product quality risks and support investigation of off-grade productions, quality issues and claims in coordination with the plants.
•    Lead the regular information exchange with Operations to monitor plant performance, address issues, co-ordinate improvement efforts and upcoming changes/ activities.
Co-ordinate with JV’s on product portfolio as appropriate

Min. Qualifications

Education:
University degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or Polymer Technology
Basic IT Competencies (e-mail, SAP R3, EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT).

Work Experience: 
10 years manufacturing, R&D, ADTS or marketing experience.
Good technical understanding of products and manufacturing operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of LyondellBasell’s core technologies, products and customer portfolio.
  • Technology skills (production-plants, process, applications, products, asset footprint).
  • Knowledge of LBI products, market applications and production technologies
  • High analytical skills to understand key drivers of plant performance and match with business needs
  • Demonstrated ability in preparation of improvement action plans from analysis through to implementation, results orientation, planning capability and organized project management structures
  • Capability to interact across and engage multiple different functions in driving forward for collective best results
  • Good communication and presentation skills
