As a member of our Analyzer Maintenance Team at the La Porte Complex, you will be expected to provide and apply technical expertise in the installation, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and repairs on all process analyzers and their associated systems. Technicians are tasked to perform analyzer maintenance in a manner that insures the safe and reliable operation of site process units and contributes to reduced operating costs. This is accomplished by executing assigned work according to plan and schedule, noting any job plan deviations, and providing input on improvement opportunities.
A Day in the Life
- Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment; responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.
- Promotes an environment in which everyone is treated with respect.
- Supports the maintenance operations work process in executing tasks.
- Provides technical expertise to assist supervision and operations in the trouble-shooting, configuration and disassembly/rebuilding of process analyzers including gas chromatographs, continuous analyzers, emissions monitoring and regulatory analyzers and keep records of data associated with periodic testing.

Performs preventative maintenance on all analyzers.

Reviews assigned job scopes for completeness and understanding.

Acquires all necessary parts, tools, and instructions prior to starting the job to maximize work efficiency.

Follows all necessary safety procedures and practices to isolate, clear, and work on plant equipment.

Ensures work is completed per company and industry standards.

Updates supervisor/manager on job progress and any problems encountered in completing the defined scope of work.

Completes all documentation using a computerized maintenance management system.

Responds to tasks as directed by maintenance supervision with the appropriate sense of urgency to minimize impact to process units.

Identifies and implements reliability driven improvements. This may include participation in site reliability teams.

Participates on committees dealing with investigations, policy and procedure development, and improving the work place environment.

Engages in frequent developmental dialog with supervisor and others to continually enhance personal and group performance and development.
You Bring This Value
- AAS Degree in Analyzers or Instrumentation preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial I/E/A maintenance required.
- Prefer working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office computer programs.
- Highly preferred is a working knowledge of Analyzers such as Siemens Maxum II GCs, ABB5000 GCs, Optichrom Advance GCs, Ametek WDG-V, Servomex 2200, Siemens NOxmat, Ultramat, and Oxymat, VCEMS, and HRVOC’s.

Ability to read P&ID's, Spec sheets and loop sheets.

Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.

Must be willing and able to provide overtime coverage and respond to plant call-outs.

Must be willing to work with hazardous and/or flammable chemicals (with proper safety precautions, training and equipment).

Must be willing to work around and/or manually interact with heavy equipment.

Must be willing and able to work outside, year-round under various weather conditions.

Must be willing and able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Must be willing and able to work in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.

Must be willing and able to work in tight or confined spaces and able to work at heights above 25 feet by climbing stairs and vertical ladders.

Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
