Basic Function
This role provides process engineering support to the LPO Site utility systems (steam, condensate, raw water instrument air, nitrogen systems, waste water and cooling towers) for a multiple process units. Responsibilities include day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing utility systems to drive process and product improvements while maintaining a strong safety and environmental compliance focus. In addition, the position will be responsible for the long-range planning of the utility systems for the entire site including any potential future growth opportunities.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Develop systems to improve and sustain value in the areas of safety, environment, production, reliability, cost and quality
• Maintain strong safety and environmental compliance focus
• Develop recommendations to improve utility system performance
• Provide process design support for capital projects
• Contribute in a team environment and establish work relationships with on-site and off-site functional groups to achieve results
• Balance day-to-day operational priorities with long-term strategic objectives to ensure alignment with company and site goals
• Coach less experienced engineers and provide technical guidance on utility systems
Min. Qualifications
• B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• A minimum of 5 years of prior experience working as an engineer with relevant experience in the refining, petrochemical or chemical process industries dealing with utility systems (steam generation, cooling water systems, instrument air/nitrogen and waste water systems)
