Basic Function
This leadership position leads the Reliability organization of the Corpus Christi site. The Reliability Manager will be directly involved with improving site reliability performance for a world class chemical manufacturing site. This position is responsible for the long-term reliability of key manufacturing units which are critical assets to the company’s financial success. The Reliability Manager will establish long range plans for equipment reliability and organizational structure to reach these long-term goals. The position will also coordinate daily activities for reliability functions associated with engineering and technical support. In addition, the role oversees the site Capital Projects team responsible for developing and executing site capital projects. The role combines a manufacturing management function with forward looking objectives to improve overall site performance with a focus on equipment integrity and initiative-taking response. The incumbent will be part of the Corpus Christi site leadership team and report to the Site Manager.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Leads, directs, and coaches the organization members to achieve business results and continuous improvement.
- Engages with department engineers, inspectors, and specialists to develop and retain top talent.
- Provide overall guidance of site long range programs.
- Establish long range plan defining strategic direction for mechanical integrity and inspections for the Corpus Christi site.
- Positively influences staff and project management with a span of control over multiple areas/disciplines.
- Interfaces with a diverse group of domestic customers including manufacturing, project management, turnaround, purchasing and business functions on reliability initiatives and projects.
- Enhances and administers a consistent system of measurement geared towards improving the effectiveness of reliability and proactive initiatives.
- Oversees and guide the development and execution of Maintenance Expense projects.
- Lead the development and implementation of site Expense Programs to ensure the preservation of the integrity of the site equipment.
- Support the development of 7-year turnaround cycle scope and execution.
- Guides the development and implementation of the CCO Capital long-range plan (LRP). Interfaces with the corporate Capital Process Owner to ensure consistency in setting priority and securing capital funding for the site.
Min. Qualifications
- Engineering BS degree (preferably ME or EE) with 10 years of experience working in refining, petrochemical or chemical manufacturing.
- Knowledgeable in broad technical areas such as - rotating equipment, fixed equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation, and analyzers.
- Excellent written / oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and with external customers.
- Working knowledge and understanding of maintenance workflow processes.
- Understanding of budgeting and return on investment justification process/analysis.
- Understanding of capital project workflow processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using SAP including maintenance workflow process, requisition generation and approval, work order approvals, and budgeting.
- Demonstrated leadership ability gained through prior management and/or supervisory assignments.
