Lead the Olefins Technical organization to enable safe, reliable, compliant, profitable, and increasingly sustainable operation of the site. Provide technical direction, develop organizational capability, and establish Olefins Technical strategies and priorities that align technology, reliability, risk, sustainability, and capital needs with site and business objectives. 

A Day in the Life

Provide visible GoalZERO leadership and ensure technical work complies with HSE, Process Safety, Process Hazard Analysis, Management of Change, Operational Excellence, and other company standards.  

Lead, coach, and develop engineers and technical professionals; build technical depth, succession plans, knowledge transfer, and a high-performing, collaborative culture.  

Set Technical organization priorities, goals, resource plans, and budgets; align daily technical support with site and business objectives.  

Ensure effective monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization, and continuous improvement of Olefins operations across safety, environmental performance, reliability, capacity, yield, energy, quality, and cost.  

Lead or sponsor cross-functional studies and initiatives that remove constraints, reduce risk, improve asset performance, and create sustainable business value.  

Provide technical governance and process design support for capital, expense, turnaround, and reliability projects, including technical justification, scope development, risk review, and operational readiness.  

Provide the Olefins Technical perspective to site and business planning processes; collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, HSE, Business, and corporate technology teams to evaluate alternatives, prioritize opportunities, and support agreed site actions.  

Advance value enhancement, cost competitiveness, feedstock and product flexibility, digitalization, energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and other site sustainability objectives.  

Represent the site on local, regional and corporate initiatives and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  

You Bring This Value

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or other relevant discipline. 

Minimum 6 years relevant experience in chemical or refining industry. 

Working knowledge of HSE, process safety, operations, maintenance, reliability, engineering, project, and business processes in a manufacturing environment. 

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels. 

Critical Competencies: strategic leadership, driving improvement in others, champion of change, driving and managing teamwork, managing situational, delegation and empowerment, communication effectiveness and initiative. 

Preferred Job Qualifications 

Prior supervisory and/or leadership experience 

Prior experience with Olefins process technology, unit optimization, process safety risk management, turnarounds or capital projects
