Basic Function

LyondellBasell’s Global Procurement group facilitates supply solutions globally for LyondellBasell. We manage supplier relationships in order to provide value to our internal customers in the acquisition of materials, services, and utilities The Buyer is Responsible for the purchase of commodities and services in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with approved strategy and per Delegation of Authority rules and other company policies and procedures. Furthermore, as the “front-line” ambassador or “face of procurement” to assigned company sites, you will interact directly with internal clients, with suppliers and with other procurement and finance units involved in the entire demand to pay process  to manage expectations, ensure accurate requirements, provide guidance, resolve issues, deliver the highest levels of stakeholder satisfaction and meet the assigned cost savings objectivesLyondellBasell’s Global Procurement group facilitates supply solutions globally for LyondellBasell. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the purchase of materials and services for assigned company sites, including contract ownership and management of outline agreements/catalogs and spot POs
  • Execute procurement strategies, as defined by a Procurement manager, for assigned company sites, including sourcing of low to moderate levels of spend for certain commodities
  • Negotiate non-strategic midsize value contracts (less complex requirements) that meet client objectives while achieving maximum overall cost effectiveness. Includes understanding and utilizing RFP/tender process, legal terms and conditions, and contract management
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities for non-strategic supplier, when required
  • Apply developed strategy into contracts for assigned company sites in accordance with corporate sourcing guidelines
  • Develop and deploy local sourcing tactics and strategy following the agreed forms, thresholds, processes and sourcing methodology (incl leveraging non-strategic spend; blanket POs and less complex projects)
  • May maintain contract ownership of low value outline agreements, e-catalogues and spot POs
  • Establish & execute a robust stakeholder engagement plan (incl. travel to assigned sites and attending site/planner meetings, reviewing 3-month lookaheads etc) to ensure early procurement involvement to achieve maximum overall cost effectiveness
  • Reinforces an effective procurement system implementation which is consistent with LYB control guidelines
  • Track relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI) regarding stakeholder engagement, strategy implementation, spend analysis and operational progress on procurement execution
  • Support debottlenecking; Issues resolution between stakeholders/sites and suppliers and provide escalation support (immediate/tactical + structural) as required
  • Identify proactively and support continuous improvement initiatives that lead to overall efficiency gains across procurement processes
  • Monitors the ordering process, and helps improve overall procurement efficiency 
  • Acts as a direct procurement contact including for urgent orders for internal clients located at various assigned company sites up to agreed spend level
  • Subject matter expert for SAP procurement processes and systems

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required 
  • 2 years related experience 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of chemical / engineering or related industry experience is desirable.
  • Experience using SAP ERP system for procurement processes
  • Experience using Ariba is preferred but not required
  • Experience with creating RFx, PO’s, Contracts and SOW (SAP Ariba, SAP ECC)
