The Raw Material Administrator is responsible for analyzing MRP to determine raw material requirements, developing a supply chain plan to procure needed raw materials, issuing purchase orders, consumption reporting, inventory reporting, forecasted use, scheduling the delivery and receipt of raw materials, and compiling supporting documentation. This position is accountable for record retention of raw materials brought into/maintained on-site and also ensures materials are maintained within appropriate levels.
The RMA is the Site Hazardous Material Coordinator and is responsible for ensuring hazardous materials are properly prepared for shipping per regulations. This includes regulatory compliance skills needed to prepare, offer and accept domestic shipments of hazardous materials.
To effectively perform the duties of this position, the individual must:
• Possess and demonstrate general knowledge and understanding of plant operations, products produced, ISO Quality System, raw materials utilized at the plant site, accounting and site procedures.
• Certified in 49 CFR Regulations; Parts 100-185
• The individual must be proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office systems; within the areas of inventory, materials management, purchasing, production and inventory planning.
• The individual must utilize effective communication skills and interface well with others. Attention to detail and problem solving are critical component of this position and strong record keeping is vital to ensure compliance for both internal and external audits.
• Individual must be able to work independently and be self-directed.
A Day in the Life
• Monitor and analyze MRP daily to determine raw material requirements along with bulk material levels and weekly catalyst inventories.
• Responsible for the purchase of raw materials for poly units. Purchasing activities to include call-off releases from outline agreements, spot PO´s, and issuing requisitions to corporate Procurement.
• Manage inbound schedule of ordered materials in accordance with bulk and warehouse space capacity limits. Coordinate the shipment of raw materials/chemicals and timely delivery to meet ever changing production schedules.
• Responsible for reconciliation of physical month end inventories of raw materials and completing SAP adjustments. Active participant in site annual PIO.
• Interacts directly with internal customers and suppliers to ensure accurate inventory requirements.
• Conduct quality review of certificates of analysis for compliance to site specifications for chemicals, catalysts and raw materials used in or supporting the production of resin.
• Participate in customer, supplier and FRA audits as required.
• Responsible for clearing SAP web cycle cock pit invoice issues for raw material purchases. Continued communication with Corporate Procurement, Disbursements and suppliers to clear any discrepancies concerning price, receipts, credit, demurrage and freight.
• PP&S warehouse box management including SAP inventory movements for and Plexar. Box cycle counts to be completed on a monthly basis.
• Schedule transloads with carrier and poly units to meet production schedules. Includes trucking of off-spec materials.
• Manage raw material unloading responsibilities of warehouse employees. Responsible for assuring material is rotated from warehouse to production by practicing FiFo—(First In; First Out), materials scrapped when contaminated or damaged, and return of materials no longer used to supplier for credit.
• Prepare and ship hazardous samples; return of hazardous residue containers in compliance with the 49 CFR DOT regulations.
• Documentation of vendor performance and quality of raw materials. (i.e., non-conforming products, rail/truck deliveries, packaging etc…)
• Monitor material inventories relative to the production task schedules.
You Bring This Value
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant operations environment with specific experience in warehouse, shipping, logistics or vendor relations preferred
• Must have a general knowledge and understanding of plant operations, products produced, ISO Quality System, raw materials utilized at the plant site, and general accounting.
• Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office Products
• Knowledge of raw materials management, purchasing, and Production Planning for Process Industries (PPPI).
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to successfully interact in a team environment
• Demonstrated commitment to Safety
• Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to multi-task and pay attention to details in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
• 1 year of chemical industry experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
