Basic Function
LyondellBasell’s Cincinnati Technology Center is seeking a laboratory associate for the polymer processing area. This position will operate polymer processing equipment, troubleshoot machines, provide basic maintenance, and document results. The Lab Associate will participate in teams to achieve department goals.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work safely and participate in activities to improve the safety performance of the site.
- Contribute to the site’s positive work culture.
- Operate polymer process machines and document results.
- Become a subject matter expert in performing assigned equipment operations and leading upgrades.
- Maintain equipment by troubleshooting, communicating, and leading repairs on assigned equipment.
- Provide basic maintenance and maintain calibrations on assigned equipment.
- Participate on project teams to help achieve department goals.
Min. Qualifications
- Required: 2 years of industrial or mechanical experience, preferably with experience in R&D (Research & Development) or industrial processing.
- Preferred but not required: 5+ years in polymer processing, chemical / batch mixing, or related industrial processing.
- Highly self-motivated individual, focused on providing high quality laboratory material in an efficient manner, while exhibiting excellent safety skills
- Solid background in Microsoft Office programs and computer-based machine control systems for equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to train and operate a sit-down electric forklift.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to make competent, independent, decisions in a timely manner to ensure excellent progress on assigned tasks.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple and or changing priorities with minimal supervision.
- Must possess the ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal customers, external customers, and vendors.
