LyondellBasell’s Cincinnati Technology Center is seeking a Maintenance Technician to provide essential support for facility operations, including HVAC and electrical systems. This role combines oversight with hands-on mechanical work across processing and testing laboratories, general building infrastructure, and the machine shop.
A Day in the Life
• Work safely and actively support initiatives to improve site safety performance.
• Foster and contribute to a positive work culture.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade processing and testing equipment to ensure reliable, continuous operation.
• Develop expertise in assigned equipment operations and lead upgrade activities.
• Provide mechanical, electrical, and HVAC support for site infrastructure and operations.
• Perform basic maintenance and maintain equipment calibrations as required.
• Participate in project teams to help achieve departmental goals.
• Review and approve work permits and job plans for contractors performing repairs and inspections (e.g., motors, elevators, plumbing, roofing, fire systems).
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance site safety.
You Bring This Value
• High School Diploma.
• 5–10 years of experience in maintenance and/or building infrastructure.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and general building maintenance skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and building drawings.
• Strong safety knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Live Electrical work, and other life critical safety work.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) for tracking maintenance and training activities.
• Ability to present information effectively in small group settings.
• Ability to train and operate a forklift, aerial lifts, and machine shop equipment.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound, independent decisions promptly to ensure task progress.
• Capable of managing multiple or changing priorities with minimal supervision.
• Professional and effective interaction with internal teams, external customers, and vendors.
