LyondellBasell is staffing for a Manager, Mid Plant Operations for the Channelview, TX Manufacturing Complex, located 18 miles from downtown Houston. Our 4,000-acre Channelview Complex consists of multiple units, including two olefin units at the north side facility that manufacture ethylene, propylene, butadiene and benzene. The south side facility uses many of these products to produce propylene oxide, styrene monomer and other derivatives. This position will manage the operations team for the Mid Plant area, supporting both O&P and I&D assets. This position reports to the CVO I&D Site Operations Manager, and
• Will manage 7 direct reports, and total staff of around 70 employees
• Will manage 4 chemical production units: Methanol (MeOH), Isopropanol (IPOH), Benzene-Toluene (BT) and PolyBD (Resin Solutions production unit)
• Accountable for safe, efficient, reliable and cost effective performance of assets and people
• Member of the site extended leadership team

• Delivers GoalZERO HSE performance through strong leadership, employee/contractor involvement, and management systems
• Responsible for implementation and adherence of corporate standards
• Know in appropriate detail the technical information and specifics relevant to the products and/or services provided by company and the processes used to produce and distribute them; possess sufficient knowledge to adequately plan for the future and identify critical discontinuities

• Translate and integrate Company strategies into objectives and action plans; planning, organizing, and measuring goal progress toward achieving world-class results with a focus on low cost and operational excellence; implementing changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes
• Responsible for developing and managing area budget
• Recommend capital projects to help meet company short and long term goals
• Manage the performance and professional development of supervisory personnel in the area and ensures supervisors are effectively managing area operating personnel
• Develop and monitor area performance against key performance indicators (KPI's) and develop plans for the area to meet/exceed the KPI's
• Ensure the Code of Conduct, and all other Company policies are consistently and fairly administered
You Bring This Value
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years’ experience in progressively more responsible positions in petrochemical or refining process operations. In lieu of a degree, 12 years’ relevant experience in progressively more responsible positions
• Knowledge of and experience with HSE, operating, maintenance, and engineering processes and procedures, business fundamentals, and shared services role in manufacturing
• Demonstrated leadership ability in a formal leadership role and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to interface with all organizational levels within the company
• A technical background and good computer skills
