Basic Function

The Rotating Equipment Planner position is a member of a dynamic team responsible for the planning and scheduling functions at the Channelview manufacturing site. Specifically, this position will be primarily responsible for the planning of routine rotating equipment maintenance and maintenance outages at CVO {<$5MM, typically 1- 2 weeks execution period).

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment. 
  • Provide detailed and accurately planned job packages for the repair and improvements to the plant's rotating equipment. Job plans must satisfy the notification scope and includes all materials, tools, services, resources, cost estimation and appropriate scheduling logic between operations/tasks. This must all be planned in SAP. 
  • Ensure adherence to the Maintenance and Operations Workflow Process (MOWP). 
  • Utilize planner feedback and establish KPls to continuously improve job plan accuracy and methods of execution. 
  • Manage the notification backlog by working with assigned clients in the development of timely and precise work orders. 
  • Create and maintain task lists and bill of materials (BOMs) in SAP for jobs requiring them. 
  • Utilize the SAP catalog system when ordering material. 
  • Monitor planned vs actual KPls on a monthly basis and make correction to task lists. 
  • Utilize previous repair history, condition monitoring data and personnel feedback to ensure the appropriate scope of work is developed. 
  • Participate in the cost estimating process for services and materials by coordinating with vendors and internal clients during the bid package development. Periodically work turnarounds. This includes planning, coordinating and other lead roles. 
  • Schedule and lead job plan discussions with all stakeholders. 
  • Participate in and lead safety huddles. 
  • Engage in frequent development dialog with supervisor and others to continually enhance personal and group performance and development. 

Min. Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with 5 years minimum craft experience as a millwright/ machinist is required. 
  • Knowledge and experience of how to specify, troubleshoot, install and maintain plant rotating equipment. (pumps, turbines, compressors etc.) 
  • SAP general knowledge required 
  • In-depth knowledge in reading and interpreting equipment drawings, specifications and QA/QC requirements. 
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to effectively interact and communicate with all departments and levels of the organization and with external suppliers. 
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, be proactive, self-motivated, demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects, changing priorities and frequently heavy workloads which may require work in addition to normal working hours. 
  • Must be willing and able to provide overtime coverage and respond to plant call-outs and participating and responding to site needs. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP Planning Software advanced experience strongly preferred.
