Basic Function

As one of the key members of the site management team, HR Officer is expected to provide advice to local management teams of the manufacturing site on people decisions, facilitate change management, talent development, and performance management processes, partner with the site manager in leading employee communications at local site level, proactively listen to employees’ feedback, continuously monitor and improve employee engagement by facilitating and working on employee engagement actions.

This position is also responsible for major HR deliverables for the Site, aligning Human Resources policies & programs and activities with business objectives, lead major HR processes and delivering HR services in the areas of headcount planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development, payroll and other backroom HR services, ensuring all the HR initiatives are performed in accordance with Corporate guidelines while balancing the specific needs of local manufacturing operations, and compliance with company policies, countries laws and regulations, with close partnership and collaborations with HR COE functions.

Responsibilities

  • According to business needs and plans, facilitate site headcount planning process, and in charge of staffing and recruiting activities, and all employment-related initiatives, proactively managing headcount from ‘position creation’ to ‘hire’. Provide guidance to local management in job descriptions and job design; Guide and support department leaders in talent selection, placement decisions, corrective actions, transfers, and employment actions.
  • Facilitate site whole process of performance management; provide guidance to managers on how to correct poor performance and employee misconduct. Provide information and training to employees to promote a better understanding of management's goals and company policies.
  • Support site succession planning and talent review processes, identify talent retention actions, and constantly monitor employee morale. Develop action plans with management team to drive high levels of employee engagement. Partner with Site Manager to develop top talent according to succession planning.
  • Organize, coordinate and deliver employee development programs according to company directions and code of conduct for site. Influence the use of Organizational Values, Competencies to drive performance and talent development. Facilitate and support Individual Development Plan (IDP) processes; Manage the Training Records
  • Partner with Site Manager to create positive working environment, and to ensure site positive employee relations; Support communication of company strategies and policies to employees; Listen to employee’s concerns & complaints, develop and roll out practical measures. Plans and organizes employee activities on site to support the positive environment working of employee. Partner with site management in managing industrial relations, and participate the process of enterprise agreement renewals process, to ensure good employee relations and uninterrupted production.
  • Drive embedding LYB company Vision, Mission, Value and Leadership principles. Lead by example and hold other people be accountable in demonstrating company values by taking actions and behaving LYB Way; Ensure all the HR process reflecting company values such as selection, rewards and recognition, performance management, and etc. Drive an organizational culture that is compliant with company Code of conduct, inclusive, fair and free from any form of discrimination; Lead investigation of employee complaints and take appropriate actions.
  • Ensure site HR policies, processes, and programs are enforced in a fair and consistent manner. Makes recommendations for improvement or adjustments where necessary.
  • Provide support for salary survey, benefit analysis and plan design. Closely monitor salary and wage changes in the labor market, provide recommendations to COE team.
  • Manage site payroll, social security, provident fund and other HR operations; Monitor the quality of service; Ensure the data in the global SAP HR database is correct and up-to-date
  • Support site annual budget forecast process in related to annual labor cost; Manage allocated HR budget
     

Min. Qualifications

Education:

MBA (Human Resources) / PG in Personnel Management.

Work Experience:

  • 6+ years working in manufacturing environment with HR operations role in MNC.
  • Have working experience in working with unions and Employee Relation
  • Experience in Payroll & Statutory Compliance, HR Policy and Benefits Administration
  • Experience in educating and upgrading the site workforce with people processes – Goal Setting, Competency Mapping, R&R etc
  • Experience in handling Performance Appraisal and Management Process will be an added advantage
  • Experience in HR Process Improvement & HR Automation
  • Critical Competencies/Behaviors for current role and growth:

HR operations skills

  • SAP experience
  • Knowledgeable in current India Labor Law
  • HR Process Management and Project Management
  • Ability to solves straightforward problems; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using standard procedures
  • Languages:
  • Excellent in written and spoken English
  • Speak & write Tamil language
