In June 2025, LYB announced entering into an agreement and exclusive negotiations for the sale of four olefins & polyolefins sites and the associated business in Europe. The sites to be sold are located in Berre (France), Münchsmünster (Germany), Carrington (UK), and Tarragona (Spain). The sites together represent a scaled olefins and polyolefins platform strategically located in proximity to a longstanding customer base and with access and connectivity to key infrastructure.

Closing of the proposed transaction is currently expected in the first half of 2026. From the start, the new company will be a scaled leader in European Olefins & Polyolefins. Powered by strategically located assets, a diverse product portfolio, and operational excellence, it aims to transform the business, fostering an agile, entrepreneurial culture where fast decision-making and hands-on collaboration drive transformation and growth.

As the Corporate Maintenance Manager, you will provide enterprise‑level leadership, governance, and strategic direction for Maintenance and Reliability across NewCo’s European Manufacturing Sites.

As the Corporate owner of ‘Maintenance Excellence’, this role ensures alignment with the Global Asset Integrity Standard (GAIS), drives standardisation of Maintenance Processes, strengthens asset Reliability, and enables Sites to achieve world‑class performance in Safety, Cost, and Operational Integrity.

The role partners closely with site Maintenance Managers, Engineering, Integrity, HSEQ, Procurement, Finance, and Digital/IT teams to translate Corporate Strategy into practical solutions, embed best practices, optimise maintenance systems, and ensure consistent execution of Maintenance and Reliability Strategies across the organisation

A Day in the Life

Ensure all sites comply with the Global Asset Integrity Standard, Lead Corporate audits of Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Integrity systems

Establish and maintain Corporate Maintenance Policies, Procedures, and Standards and provide governance over SAP Plant Maintenance,

Develop and deploy a global Maintenance Excellence framework, define performance measures and promote continuous Improvement Initiatives

Support Sites in managing major Turnarounds/Outages, ensuring alignment with Corporate Standards and Lifecycle Cost Principles.

Partner with IT/digital teams to sustain and enhance Maintenance Systems and Ensure Data Integrity

Support Sites in developing Maintenance Budgets, Cost‑Benefit Analyses, and prioritisation of Maintenance and Reliability Projects.

Work effectively across the organisation, including diverse and multicultural teams to build consensus, deliver practical solutions and gain company wide support for organisational goals.

 

 

 

You Bring This Value

Education:

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent related discipline.

 

Work Experience:

 

Minimum of 10-15 years’ progressive experience working in Maintenance & Reliability within the Refining, Petrochemical, or Chemical Process Industries.

 

Demonstrated success Leading Technical teams and Enterprise-Level Initiatives.

 

Strong understanding of Asset Integrity, Maintenance Management Systems, and Regulatory frameworks (e.g., COMAH, GAIS, OE standards).

 

Proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance, Condition Monitoring and Reliability tools.

 

Experience supporting major Turnarounds is also essential.

 

Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills.

 

Willingness to travel across each of the European manufacturing sites as and when required.

Language

Fluent in English (written and spoken). Fluency in French, German and/or Dutch is a plus.
