In June 2025, LYB announced entering into an agreement and exclusive negotiations for the sale of four olefins & polyolefins sites and the associated business in Europe. The sites to be sold are located in Berre (France), Münchsmünster (Germany), Carrington (UK), and Tarragona (Spain). The sites together represent a scaled olefins and polyolefins platform strategically located in proximity to a longstanding customer base and with access and connectivity to key infrastructure.
Closing of the proposed transaction is currently expected in the first half of 2026. From the start, the new company will be a scaled leader in European Olefins & Polyolefins. Powered by strategically located assets, a diverse product portfolio, and operational excellence, it aims to transform the business, fostering an agile, entrepreneurial culture where fast decision-making and hands-on collaboration drive transformation and growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Establish strong network with internal and external key stakeholders including leading customers, machine manufacturers and OEM’s - opinion makers, key stakeholders and industry forums in order to build technical and market expertise and to be able to translate market/segment/regulatory trends into user/segment requirements.
Support customers in optimizing the use of Company products, explaining product properties and processing capabilities, appropriate value in use positioning, supporting product trials and investigating customer complaints and processing issues, co-ordinating with sales and marketing as appropriate in order to maximize value creation and capture opportunities in assigned segments ensuring that the product risks are identified and appropriately managed internally and by our customers.
Identify opportunities of new application needs, of threats resulting from competition or regulatory changes in order to obtain continued differentiation through innovation and optimization and to grow Company market share.
Develop and manage the introduction of products into the market in co-ordination with R&D, marketing and asset management. Support planning and execution of plant product scale up and subsequent customer trials/approvals in order to obtain value from new product introduction, value upgrade from existing portfolio, compelling ammunition packages for innovative grades and conclusive, current and structured technical data for established product portfolio
Oversee the maintenance of product specifications, product data sheets, PSB and provision of data as required for other product stewardship or legislative matters. Ensure data on customer portal is of high quality and current in order to ensure technical data and customer portal remain actual and internal and external audits are supported
Min. Qualifications
University degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or technical field
Work Experience:
Prior experience in a technical environment, such as R&D, product development, manufacturing with polyolefins products and associated applications is appreciated.
Skills
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of PP and PE Polyolefins products and applications.
Ability to operate in a technical and commercial environment and translate knowledge of Rotterdam Olefins & Polyolefins Company products into benefits for the customer.
Able to build and maintain networks within the Company and with relevant people and organisations outside the Company.
Languages:
Italian and English language skills. French and Spanish languages of benefit (in Italy)
