The Petrochemical Pole of Berre is a petrochemical complex that covers nearly 1,000 hectares, located on the banks of the Etang de Berre, 30 km from Marseille in the south of the France. This site includes a steam cracker and world-class Polypropylene and Polyethylene units. Polyolefin units produce Polypropylene and Polyethylene with a large number of domestic and industrial applications. This site also includes chemical units and logistics facilities such as port equipment, pipelines, storage and distribution terminals.
Today, the Berre site is entering a new dynamic by working on common objectives and projects. Decarbonization, sustainability, circularity are at the heart of LyondellBasell's vision, constituting our strategy. As part of our activities, we are looking for a Junior Manufacturing Financial Controller (F/M) for our petrochemical site in Berre.
Basic Function
This position is the competent financial dialogue partner for Utilities site management providing value added support through timely, high quality and leveraging financial information & insights to optimize performance.
Key activities include monthly performance reporting on variable and fixed costs, the contribution of the annual performance plan, monthly forecast updates in order to closely monitor, project and manage manufacturing cost performance and internal control support activities for all aspects of the site units & support services.
The Junior Manufacturing Analyst is a key liaison between Manufacturing, Procurement, Business Finance and General Accounting. The role will also partner with other support organizations (e.g. Internal Controls, Audit …) to ensure compliance with accounting principles and control standards that impact manufacturing costs, working capital, and site EBITDA. The role seeks to influence decision making by providing a financial perspective that drives profitability while understanding and managing risks common to manufacturing operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities, as they relate to the manufacturing sites include (but are not limited to) management of the following:
- Financial support to the unit & Support services Managers and staff
- Cost accounting, analysis, reporting and internal control coordination activities
- Site forecasting and LRP functions
- Annual Performance Plan process
- Internal controls and compliance with SOx (accurate, complete and timely)
- Classification of costs (fixed vs. variable / OPEX vs. CAPEX)
- Ad-hoc support
Min. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• 1-2 years of experience in financial or manufacturing accounting.
• Knowledge in SAP (FI; CO and MM modules) and use of Microsoft Office applications and Business Warehouse
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
• Possesses high level of customer attention and focus with appropriate discipline toward being the Financial Conscience for site leaders
• Fluent in spoken and written business English
• Ability to speak other Local languages used at the manufacturing site (French)
• Operates with a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
