For our German sites in Bayreuth we are looking for a

 

Head of Maintenance and Projects (m/f/d)

 

 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

 

  • Lead and motivate the Maintenance team following Goal Zero and Operational Excellence principles.
  • Ensure the workforce is trained in safety requirements and compliant with corporate, local, and legal standards.
  • Develop an empowered, efficient, and proactive team with clear roles, continuous improvement initiatives, and a strong focus on service efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain maintenance strategies and procedures to optimize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Define and manage the Maintenance budget, allocate resources, and track expenditures to ensure efficient scope delivery.
  • Establish and oversee predictive and preventive maintenance, inspection duties, and spare parts management.
  • Promote staff training and development with structured schedules and regular monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with OE standards, including safety protocols like energy isolation, work permitting, and fire protection.
  • Maintain technical information, documentation, and ensure compliance with GAIS standards for inspections and reporting.
  • Plan and execute OPEX projects efficiently, avoiding end-of-year cost peaks.
  • Manage the department according to ISO50001 (Energy Management) and ISO14001 (Environmental Management), with a focus on energy-saving measures.
  • Continuously improve maintenance management systems, dashboards, and preventive maintenance plans.
  • Oversee Capex projects, adhering to LYB PMP standards, and align with LRP and annual budgeting processes.
  • Collaborate with Site Management to select and train apprentices as per site needs.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Engineering degree preferred in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Working experience in the fields of maintenance and project management
  • Experience in the field of compound production and extruder technology
  • Structured and organized working approach
  • Strong team player with collaborative mindset
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams effectively
  • Good communication & planning skills
