LyondellBasell is searching for a Millwright for our High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) manufacturing facility located in Matagorda, TX, 13 miles south of Bay City, TX. This Millwright position is for the site’s Rotating Equipment Repair Shop. The primary duties of this position are to disassemble, inspect, repair, and assemble rotating equipment for three LYB manufacturing sites.

A Day in the Life

· Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment; responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations.

· Disassemble, inspect, develop repair scope, perform requisite repairs, and assemble rotating equipment.

· Execute scheduled work by:

· Reviewing assigned job scopes for completeness and understanding.

· Acquiring all necessary parts, tools, and instructions prior to starting the job to maximize work efficiency.

· Following all necessary safety procedures and practices.

· Ensuring work is completed per company and industry standards.

· Updating supervisor on job progress and any problems encountered in completing the defined scope of work.

· Completing all documentation using a computerized maintenance management system.

· Train / learn from the machinist to gain a working knowledge of machine shop equipment (engine lathe, milling machine, horizontal boring mill, balance machine, etc.)

You Bring This Value

· Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a millwright; in addition, prefer at least one of the following:

· Journeyman Millwright from a recognized apprenticeship program

· NCCER Millwright certification

· The candidate must have an advanced working knowledge of:

· Rotating equipment disassemble, inspection, and repair

· Precision measuring tools

· The candidate should be willing to obtain a working knowledge in the operation of machine shop equipment.

· The individual must possess effective organizational and communication (verbal & written) skills and must be able to interface with all personnel on-site in a positive, clear, and collaborative manner.

· The successful candidate must possess independent decision-making skills, a high degree of ownership, and be able to work autonomously.

· Must possess good housekeeping standards.

· Must be willing and able to provide overtime coverage and work plant callouts, including general mechanical callouts.

· Must be willing and able to stand and walk for extended periods of time as well as frequently bend, reach, and lift.

· Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Able to work in a confined space and from elevated platforms.

· Able to wear appropriate protective equipment.

· Must successfully pass pre-employment screening process.

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident).
