Application Development and Technical Service (ADTS) Manager Masterbatches (m/f/d)

 

 

Day in the Life:

 

  • Lead and further develop a team of ADTS engineers, including task allocation, coaching, feedback, and regular reviews
  • Promote work quality and innovation support within the team and organize training sessions for team members
  • Responsible for hiring new team members and supporting their professional and personal development
  • Regular customer visits, including technical departments and quality managers, to build strong relationships at plant level and with local technical teams, understand customer needs, identify business opportunities and propose APS solutions
  • Provide high-quality and effective technical support to assigned commercial customers – either personally or through the team
  • Ensure, together with the team, that customer requirements are appropriately reflected in manufacturing specifications, while also supporting product portfolio and supply chain optimization through collaboration with customers to promote manufacturing improvements
  • Identify future product and application technology needs of customers, translate them into measurable product characteristics, and communicate them within the APS organization
  • Take project responsibility for agreed customer-specific projects (Stage Gate process)
  • Organize and lead the PRMP (Product Risk Management Plan)
  • Collaborate closely with other stakeholders such as Sales, NBD, PAD, Quality and Marketing
  • Represent the company at conferences, meetings and trade fairs

 

 

You Bring This Value:

 

  • Successfully completed degree or equivalent education in a scientific or technical field, preferably in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Several years of experience in sales (+10 years), technical support, or product development for masterbatches, ideally in a technical environment such as R&D, product/ application development or production, with proven knowledge of masterbatches and their applications
  • Several years of leadership experience (+3 years), preferably managing remote teams across different countries
  • Knowledge of markets, applications (flexible and rigid packaging), and processing technologies in the plastics sector
  • Specific expertise in masterbatches, color pigments, additives, and fillers, as well as their compositions
  • Experience in project management and working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication, presentation and reporting skills
  • High customer orientation and team spirit
  • Decisive, innovative and results orientation
  • Understanding of circular economy and sustainability
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are an advantage
  • Basic IT skills
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Willingness to travel within the EU (approx. 40%)
