This is the role

Supports rapid commercialization of a portfolio of innovation and product improvement projects in the APS segments; giving technical advice to customers in respect of most effective use and processing of LyondellBasell’s products; provide input and gather necessary technical and market trend information to contribute to continuous value creation and identification of opportunities for innovation and grade range optimization. Contributes with technical support in complaint handling.

Roles and Responsabilities

  • Ensure compliance with the Safety and Environmental procedures that are applicable by legal, Corporate, Environmental Management System or any other commitment to which the company adheres.
  • Keep the group informed about information on the products used, danger, prevention, risks...
  • Notify the anomalies detected in the equipment that is not complying with the Safety Standards or pose a danger to the operator, to the person responsible for plant safety.
  • Respect the order and cleanliness of the position and work area.
  • Act according to the highest standard of legal and ethical conduct.
  • Be socially and environmentally responsible.
  • Value diversity and understand cultural differences.
  • Apply quality criteria and their continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that product specifications.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices for Plastics in Contact with Food.

Roles and Responsabilities II

  • Prepare work plan: proposals, tests, samples, production procedures... to improve products.
  • Production and analysis of experimental samples in the pilot line of Carbon Black masterbatch.
  • Creation of new formulas and inspection plans.
  • Execute the product development process or claims requested by the client (internal and external).
  • Examine and evaluate results and present conclusions from laboratory work.
  • Send samples to clients with all technical documentation.
  • ADTS support.
  • Analyze & Match Carbon Black masterbatch from competitors.
  • Develop technical innovation and product design projects for Carbon Black masterbatch.
  • Carry out and document analysis, studies and investigations of new products, raw materials (Carbon Black) and methods for quality assurance, with special dedication to Carbon Black masterbatch.
  • Consult at higher levels on topics that require approval.
  • Deal, when appropriate, with other departments and external entities, clients and/or suppliers.
  • Monitor the formulas and compliance with the internal or legal requirements of the materials.
  • Transform the results of research activities into designs and specifications for specific products.
  • Assistance to Quality Control in the developments that have been executed.

Roles and Responsabilities III

  • Provide Quality Control with the specifications and characteristics that the materials must meet.
  • Inform your superior about the results of your activity.
  • Propose and document improvements in materials, qualities, processes and costs.
  • Knowledge of the  corporate product portfolio.
  • Provide the Master Data with the necessary data to keep the PLM updated (creation and modification of new items, product scalability...).
  • Management of laboratory equipment assigned by your superior.
  • Manage the maintenance and operation of laboratory equipment assigned by Management.
  • Train other colleagues in the use of assigned laboratory equipment.
  • Develop the necessary procedures to ensure the proper functioning of the team assigned by Management.
  • Provide technical assistance to internal departments.
  • Collaborate with other departments in the industrialization of our products to guarantee the optimization of our products according to their industrial processes.

This is what you bring

  • Chemistry Degree.
  • 3 years as a Laboratory Technician. At least 1 year working with Carbon Black masterbatch and/or thermoplastic transformation.
  • MS Office.
  • Management of laboratory software (PLM, Sopheon).
  • Spanish native. English advanced.
  • Driving license.


  • Profound knowledge of polymers and additives in a lot of different applications.
  • Ability to perform and understand results from laboratory equipment which is used for analyzing physical, chemical or optical properties of plastics.
  • Knowledge of process techniques of plastics.
  • Mastery of transformation equipment (injectors, extruders, film...) and testing (fluidity meters, Brabender filter test, OCS, TGA, DSC, IR...).
  • Experience analyzing parameters and technical characteristics of materials in order to achieve the appropriate formulation.

08:00/09:00 - 17:30/18:30 Monday to Thursday.

08:00/09:00 – 14:00-15:00 Friday.
