Basic Function

This key role within the European Intermediates & Derivatives Sales Team is an individual contributor position. The purpose is to represent the company and execute business strategies, manage the relationship with the company’s direct customers and partners in the indirect market channel in the CEE Region, increase overall value creation and manage the full order-to-cash process. We are looking for a dynamic, commercial and agile individual with a drive to increase sales with direct customers and in the indirect market channel (distributors, resellers, export). The position will be based in Poland (home office). 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Translates LyondellBasell’s Channel-To-Market and growth strategy into a coherent sales strategy for the CEE Region 
  • Effectively prospects for new customers and expands existing relationships. Considering the needs of the customer and the context of LYB’s offering within their region and globally
  • Dynamically drives the achievement of sales targets and cost objectives, including pricing, volume & margin objectives, account share, cost-to-serve management, bad debt and working  capital
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with established and new partners in order to optimize value (pricing vs. volume management) and capture relevant market information for the business on an ongoing basis 
  • Manages the distribution network in the region, driving the execution of monthly sales plan, recommend and execute price setting and control the the full order process.      
  • Enhances LYB market intelligence utilizing our CRM solution
  • Promotes an approach of continuous improvement and operation excellence for key sales  processes, notably pricing and contract management
  • Supports closure of customer claims in a timely manner and limits LYB’s exposure related to customer complaints  
  • Works collaboratively with key stake holders, including Business Management, Supply Chain and other Staff Functions to meet customer requirements in the context of achieving LYB Business objectives.

Min. Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in scientific, technical or business field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a commercial role in the CEE region (Sales, Marketing, Business Development or Product Management). Candidates with a background in working for multinational companies in the chemical industry are preferred. 
  • Fluent in English and at least one other Slavic language, preferably Polish.
  • Developed IT skills (Microsoft Office Word/Excel/PowerPoint, SAP R/3, SalesForce)
  • Presentation and Communication Skills: Presents information in a simple way, clearly communicating the key messages and engages the audience. Communicates openly and clear. Simplifies complex issues where possible and share information freely
  • Negotiating: Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups. Can settle differences with minimum “noise”. Can win concessions without damaging relationships. Can be direct and forceful as well as diplomatic. Gains trust quickly of other parties to the negotiations. Has a good sense of timing.
  • Product and Technical Knowledge: Looks for opportunities to continuously learn about LYB products and services to be able to clearly articulate these in a strong value proposition for the partner entity.
  • Regular travel is required for this position. The candidate is expected manage the responsibilities for this role in combination with travel arrangements and customer visits.
