Account Manager, Korea

Basic Function

This key role within the Asia Intermediates & Derivatives (I&D) Sales Team is primarily responsible for delivery of the sales budget of Korea including local sales and assigned Korean transplants in Asia. The job holder will independently manage key customers and distributors interfaces, collect market intelligence, devise plans to achieve growth target with the business management function. 

Support to business functions like procurement of benzene from Korea to US, support evaluation of logistics options like storage of product in Korea ports are part of the role. 

The position will be based in Seoul, Korea.

Roles & Responsibilities

•    Respects all LYB policies and procedures and embraces the Vision, Mission, Values of LYB
•    Translates the business and marketing strategies into a coherent sales strategy for the Korea territory, Korean Transplants as well as support global and regional accounts development. 
•    Dynamically drives the achievement of sales targets, including pricing, volume & margin objectives, customer share and cost-to-serve management
•    Effectively prospects for new customers or to expand existing relationships. Considering the needs of the customer and the context of LYB’s offering within the region and globally
•    Enhances LYB market intelligence utilizing our CRM (Sales Force) solution
•    Promotes a philosophy of continuous improvement and operation excellence for key sales processes, notably pricing and contract account management
•    Works collaboratively with key stake holders, including Business Management, Supply Chain and other Staff Functions to meet customer requirements in the context of achieving LYB Business objectives

Personal Specification

•    University level degree in Business or Science subjects, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred
Work Experience: 

•    Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a commercial (Sales, Marketing, Business Development or Product Management) role within the chemical industry.
•    In-depth knowledge of the Asia petrochemical industry product flow preferred, specifically experience with the industrial and electronics application of solvents in Korea will be an advantage for the role
•    Able to represent LYB effectively with the senior management level of customers and government agencies
