Basic Function

The Engineering Manager for APS US/CAN reports to the Director of APS Manufacturing (US/CAN) and oversees the planning, design, and execution of the Capital Project portfolio for the region. This role also develops and drives the implementation of the region’s digital and automation strategies. Covering 15 manufacturing sites across the US/CAN region, this critical role is responsible for effectively and cost-efficiently executing our capital plans and developing our forward-looking engineering strategy. Additionally, the role supports the professional development of the region’s engineering staff. #LI-TF1

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, design, and execution of APS US/CAN Manufacturing capital projects, addressing risks and productivity constraints in alignment with the region’s manufacturing strategy.
  • Facilitate annual Capital LRP submissions and reviews for the APS US/CAN Manufacturing team.
  • Supervise a project management team of 3-5 employees leading capital projects for the region’s manufacturing sites.
  • Drive the adoption and adherence to the LYB Project Management Process (PMP) excellence model within the region’s capital projects.
  • Provide monthly updates to the key stakeholders on Capital Project costs and schedules.
  • Develop and drive the implementation of the US/CAN Manufacturing team’s automation strategy.
  • Develop and drive the implementation of the US/CAN Manufacturing team’s digital strategy.
  • Support the professional development of US/CAN Manufacturing engineering resources.
  • Define the regional manufacturing strategy for the related sites.

Min. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college (preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, or a comparable Technical Discipline).
  • 10 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Skilled in problem analysis and resolution.
  • Experience in leading programs and projects.
  • Competence in documenting, planning, and executing projects.
  • Ability to lead autonomously and foster an empowered team focused on business and customer interests.
