This is the role

As Global Technical Training Specialist you have the responsibility in the EU for driving the consistent implementation and measurement of Technical Training programs, processes, and learning initiatives amongst Operations & Maintenance And you will coordinate this globally. You will focus on needs identification, design, and delivery of manufacturing technical development programs and supporting training. It gives you the opportunity to drive improvements and change within Europe Manufacturing training organization by identifying, developing, and implementing learning strategies that focus on core manufacturing processes. You will provide direction for the implementation of  a structured training system from Onboarding to Job Specific Training at sites located in EU, based on needs assessments with a global coordination with US Team and sharing Best Practices globally. You’ll provide support to site subject matter experts for train-the-trainer, driving change and fundamentals of performance improvement. The position will also provide Technical Training Support to APS Sites in Europe, aligning globally. Up to 25% travelling within Europe can be part of this challenging job.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Global GTLS Team on Operation & Maintenance training programs & coordinate globally 
  • Lead training assessment & participate in Operational Excellence audits 
  • Assess current training initiatives, identifying gaps, creating/applying existing processes
  • Analyze technical training needs and evaluate current business metrics as required 
  • Provide support to site subject matter experts for train-the-trainer, driving change and fundamentals of performance improvement
  • Standardize processes and documents to align all LYB EU site & all EU APS sites to overall LYB training standard and best practices
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and change within technical/HSE learning and development 
  • Coordinate new solution development to include digital learning solutions
  • Partner with key stakeholders to determine gaps, obtain feedback and review program/approaches.  This will allow for continuous improvement and alignment on objectives
  • Example documents to be created are technical training materials, operating procedures, test questions, scenarios for drills, trainer talking points and other to-be-determined technical documents

This is what you bring

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as Engineering, Training and Development, Organizational Psychology is beneficial
  • 7+ years  of manufacturing experience required in the hydrocarbon industry 
  • Experience in training development and deployment background including but not limited to Instructional Design, Adult Learning Principles is preferred
  • Site Plant trainers / Site Training Department would be a plus
  • Experienced professional who has worked in many aspects of technical operations or maintenance
  • Ability to learn adult learning principles and apply to various topics and situations
  • Advanced PC skills including Learning Management Systems, spreadsheets, Office365, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Documentum, SharePoint, SuccessFactors and VISIO.  
  • Ability to document and communicate procedures and processes
  • Experience with project process
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with key stakeholders
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)
