Addressing climate change is one of the greatest challenges our world is facing. As such, LyondellBasell supports the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting climate change by achieving net zero for global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by mid-century. We are committed to doing our part. Our goals are: 

• Net zero emissions from global operations by 2050
• Absolute reduction in scope one and two emissions of at least 30 percent by 2030
• A minimum of 50 percent of electricity procured from renewable sources by 2030

Achieving these goals while still assuring safe and reliable operation will require significant (capex) changes to our production sites and also the production facilities of our raw material and utility Suppliers.

This is the role

You will have a major role in energy transition related (scouting) studies, defining (capex) projects and supporting execution of projects.
As a lead of multi-disciplinary teams you will be responsible for the  front-end-loading of projects and you will provide process engineering knowledge and guidance during the engineering phase. 
Analyzing complex issues and advising integral solutions is not something you have to do all alone. You work closely together with site staff, our global R&D, our corporate engineering department and our Global projects Organization. You have the responsibility to judge potential projects on feasibility, sustainability, safety and efficiency and make proposals to  site management. 
You will coach and train (young) engineers and support them with professional knowledge as best as possible. As part of our Global Operational Excellence program you will develop, share and implement standards and best practices to achieve safe and sustainable operation.

This is what you bring

• Preferably a Master’s degree in chemical engineering;
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a comparable field of work;
• Fluent English and Dutch is a plus.
