Basic Function

Planning and coordinating the programs related to the areas of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) and Facilities management, with a view to continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence in these processes, with a focus on the physical integrity and well-being of all people, minimizing environmental impacts on LYB's image, as well as safeguarding the company's assets, using technical and financial resources rationally.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, implementing, and maintaining the HSE Integrated Management System, ISO 14.001, ISO 45.001, and the unit's facilities requirements, by drawing up and managing internal and external audit programs, training, compliance with legislation, and raising awareness among managers and employees. 
  • Developing audit plans and leading internal and external audits of the HSE Integrated Management System and Operational Excellence, through the annual audit plan.
  • Managing internal controls of undesirable events, ingress, and egress of people and materials from the production plant and distribution center, such as access control, ingress and egress of goods, external communication, violence, vandalism, and other related events.
  • Meet and exceed HSE targets and demands, setting clear performance and development expectations through ongoing training and feedback, including their direct reports.
  • Operate as a facilitator and take part in risk analysis studies covering process integrity, using the main tools: What-If, SWOT, "APR", etc., with a view to the integrity of the HSE Integrated Management System.
  • Carry out a critical analysis of the SSCA Integrated Management System, planned inspections, Unsafe Acts and Conditions Audits, and "Near Misses", using the reports generated by the areas responsible.
  • Encouraging managers to comply with the established HSE Management plans by checking the progress of activities, including the activities of contracted service companies.
  • Supervising Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health activities by monitoring, evaluating, and developing projects to improve the working environment for all company employees.
  • Complying with the Respiratory Protection and Hearing Conservation Program, following legal requirements.
  • Maintain updates to the Social Security Profile, "PGR", and "LTCAT" for all employees, by monitoring changes in the work environment.
  • Maintain the GoalZero program active, encouraging the participation of the areas involved. 
  • Maintain active HSE training programs by following up with leaders.
  • Prepare the budget for investments and general expenses, keeping track of all accrued expenses.
  • Prepare reports and monitor the HSE performance of the Pindamonhangaba site by following up on current programs, ensuring compliance with the HSE Policy and current legislation.
  • Coordinating licensing processes with environmental agencies, the Fire Brigade, town halls, and others, by complying with all the conditions of the process.
  • Maintaining exchanges with Lyondellbasell's HSE and Operational Excellence units.
  • Supporting the implementation of the criteria for excellence in social responsibility projects (community advisory council, plant visits, etc.) by disseminating these values.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Emergency Response Plans by carrying out internal and external drills.
  • Being part of the technical groups and participating in the initiatives of the multifunctional committees at the Pindamonhangaba site.
  • Ensuring the development of the human resources under their responsibility by defining needs and drawing up the respective training programs.
  • Supporting more complex projects on environmental pollution and collective and individual protection systems, seeking to stimulate the areas concerned.
  • Contributing to or ensuring the company's standardization in HSE matters through the documentation system and with continuous improvement projects.

Min. Qualifications

  •  University degree in Occupational Safety and Environmental Engineering
  • Technical experience in the areas of industrial safety, the environment and industrial hygiene
  • Experience in supervisory positions and/or team coordination.
  • Advanced/Fluent English
  • Knowledge of international regulations, norms and standards applicable to the Health, Safety and Environment area (ISO 14.001, ISO 45.001) required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in related areas.
  • Basic computer skills (ERP Datasul, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of risk analysis tools: SWOT; FMEA, APRs, others.
  • Ability to plan and deliver training related to HSE.
  • Ability to solve problems collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Have a systemic vision aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prepare, conduct and monitor internal and external audits, with the participation of multidisciplinary teams.
