The Lead Business Finance Analyst role is a critical position providing accurate financial analysis, consolidation, forecasting, budgeting and reporting for the US ETBE Oxyfuels (JBSL) and Global Isobutylene businesses embedded within the TBA Chain BU.  This position has responsibility for managing all financial aspects of the business performance and is the regional focal point.  This position will also support the team in completing the TBA chain reporting responsibilities within the context of management reporting and ad-hoc analysis.


This position engages regularly with, and acts as a financial advisor to the US ETBE Oxyfuels and Global Isobutylene Business Management and Directors. The Lead Business Finance Analyst is a key contributor to the US TBA chain Business management team and works closely with Operational Planning, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and the Manufacturing organization.  This position also interacts and provides regular reporting to executive management and for investors relation. This role requires close collaboration across the financial organization.

A Day In The Life:

  • Analyze business income statement and balance sheet as part of the monthly close process to validate actual results, monitor data integrity, and investigate material variances.
  • Prepares profitability forecasts and provide variance analysis of results versus targets.
  • Prepares and presents financial analysis for the US TBA chain Business management.
  • Prepare and presents business results to various audiences: e.g. manufacturing, finance, supply chain.
  • Input of global TBA chain forecast into OneStream and forecast/BRM reporting responsibilities.
  • Monitor performance of TBA chain largest customer with pricing validation, profitability analysis, and volume optimization impact.
  • Responsible for providing analysis for external reporting that are subject to SEC filings, as a result, accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
  • Develop and maintain detailed business forecasting models for income statement and cash flow with excel, Business Warehouse, or any other analytical / graphical tools.
  • Support projects to improve reporting processes and forecasting accuracy.
  • Contribute to the implementation of new forecasting/reporting system and learn required technical expertise.
  • Work closely with Operations planning to evaluate volume planning, inventory management and Working Capital impacts. 
  • Review Working Capital movements on a monthly basis. Work with Business, Supply chain, Credit, or Procurement to identify Working Capital improvement areas.  
  • Prepare with key stakeholders, Intermediate and Derivatives “I&D” fixed cost responsibility budget.
  • Contribute to business strategy meeting and long range plan (LRP) as needed.
  • Perform financial analysis in compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley 404 Management testing standards.
  • Responsible for assisting with global consolidation and reporting for the TBA chain.

You Bring This Value:

  • Accounting or Finance degree or related business degree with 5+ year’s relevant financial experience. Graduate Degree or Professional Certification-preferred.
  • Knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen, curiosity for market trends and drivers.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Business Warehouse.
  • OneStream experience preferred.
  • Intermediate presentation skills and comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (excel, PowerPoint, word).
  • Ability to build & maintain solid relationships with executive business leaders.
  • Ability to stay abreast of current business/market conditions for the business unit in order to forecast future economic/financial impacts for any number of variables.
  • Ability to influence the business and provide insightful finance analysis to senior management.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and effectively manage key stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to respond quickly to various requests with clear and purposeful explanations.
  • Passionate to support operational and reporting excellence.
  • Good team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to build networks, trust, credibility and respect.
  • A self-starter able to shape decisions, engage with stakeholders and rally support.
