Basic Function

Working in a team environment, he/she carries responsibility for implementing reliability best practices, developing and optimizing preventive maintenance tasks, and supporting maintenance activities.
In this position he/she will be recognized as the reliability subject matter expert and be responsible for leading the improvements in maintenance and reliability across a number of operational facilities. 
The position interacts with other technical groups on site (process engineering, maintenance, operation), corporate technical networks and peers, and vendors/suppliers as needed to resolve problems and improve plant reliability and performance. 
He/She utilizes reliability data to continuously drive reliability improvements. 
He/She performs and manages these studies ensuring that laws, regulations, international and Company standard, preferred practice and guidelines are applied as appropriate.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintains and analyzes reliability data and drives improvements related to reliability fundamentals such as production critical equipment, equipment maintenance strategies, gap closure assessments/regular audits, spare parts requirements, and reliability metrics.
  • Makes recommendations for long term reliability improvements (including improvements that may be transferred to the capital project team).      
  • Lead programs and training as needed to enhance the reliability culture at the plant sites. 
  • Act as a liaison with engineers, operations, specialists, and other cross functional teams to implement or develop potential reliability improvements.       
  • Conducts failure analysis and supports root cause investigations as appropriate (i.e., higher level criticality).  As well as guiding the site in how to conduct proper RCFAs, with follow up action items and tracking.        
  • Ensure the implementation and updating of the inspection master plan.
  • Improve or publish procedures or guidance as it may relate to reliability or maintenance management.      
  • Uses RCM/FMEA/Pareto process principles to establish and optimize proactive maintenance strategies for mechanical equipment. Review, propose, manage electrical spare parts
  • Update preventive/predictive maintenance activities         
  • Cooling towers site expert and interface with service provider
  • Support to other safety studies:

- Definition of RAM requirements for Vendors and EPC Contractors
- Human Factor studies 
- Support to spare parts management in case risk-based analysis is required
- Historical data analysis, in case estimation of RAM parameters is required 
- Training and personnel development specifically for RAM-related topics (e.g. failure classification, cause analysis)
- Management of outsourced RAM activities 


 

Min. Qualifications

Education:

University degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical, Nuclear and Energy)
 

Langueage:

Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred work Experience:

•    3+ years experience in a Maintenance role
•    Proven previous experience (2+ years) in the specific role activities

 

Preferred Licenses & Certifications:

Reliability engineer certificate after: 

•    a national normalization body;
•    entity recognised and accredited by a national normalization body;
•    entity which is qualified for performing RAM services according to Company’s Vendor Qualification process and has proven training experience.
•    As an alternative to the previous point, a Reliability Professional Certificate issued by an entity recognised by a national normalization/certification body, or equivalent. Any such certificate is acceptable, provided that it covers the RAM knowledge area 
•    Proper training level in the RAM software in use, as per software house training program (if any).
